Fans of American rock group Kings of Leon were left disappointed after they were forced to postpone their Sunday (Aug 10th) concert in Saratoga Springs, New York, due to a member of the band suffering a serious injury.

Nathan Followill sustained broken ribs when their tour bus avoided hitting a pedestrian

Nathan Followill, the band’s drummer, was unable to perform the show because he was being treated for broken ribs, which he sustained after the Kings Of Leon’s tour bus had to suddenly swerve to avoid hitting a pedestrian.

The official announcement came via the band’s Facebook page on the same day, which also confirmed the cancelation of that night’s show.

“Due to an accident on their tour bus, Kings of Leon will unfortunately have to postpone tonight’s show in Saratoga Springs, NY. The band was en route to their hotel after their show in Boston when a pedestrian jumped in front of their tour bus, causing the bus to stop short, injuring Nathan Followill,” the post read.

Adding, “Nathan is being treated for broken ribs, but is doing well. The band will postpone the show that was planned for TONIGHT, August 10th, until further notice.”

Kings of Leon’s lead guitarist and Nathan’s brother, Jared Followill, took to Twitter to express his support for the injured musician. “So sad this a.m.. Bus accident last night. Nathan has broken ribs. This was the most fun tour in a while. We'll be back ASAP. #GetWellNate,” the tweet said.

Nathan also tweeted his concerned fans, posting, “Thank you for all of the get well soon. I'm a little banged up but will be back better than ever.”

The band, who are touring in support of their latest studio album ‘Mechanical Bull’ (2013), hasn’t announced when the Saratoga Springs show will be rescheduled, and they are next set to perform in Wantagh, NY on August 13th
