Nathan Followill, the drummer with Kings on Leon, was being treated for broken ribs on Saturday night (August 9, 2014) after the band's tour bus was involved in a crash en route to their hotel following a show in Boston. The band announced the news on Facebook, noting Followill was recovering well.

"The band was en route to their hotel after their show in Boston when a pedestrian jumped in front of their tour bus, causing the bus to stop short, injuring Nathan Followill" the statement read. The accident forced the band to postpone their in Saratoga Springs, New York on Sunday (August 10, 2014) until further notice. Refunds will be available to ticket holders.

Bass player Jared Followill, Nathan's brother, tweeted, "So sad this a.m.Bus accident last night. Nathan has broken ribs. This was the most fun tour in a while. We'll be back ASAP.#GetWellNate."

Kings of Leon recently returned to the United States after several months touring Mechanical Bull in Europe. The band played Lollapalooza in Chicago last week and will play Made in America Festival in Philadelphia at the end of the month. The band are still scheduled to play The Tonight Show on Tuesday though it's unclear whether Followill's injuries will affect the touring. 

Mechanical Bull, released in 2013, gained mainly favourable reviews from critics. The band's sixth studio album holds an average score of 70 out of 100, based on 30 reviews. The album topped the album charts in the UK, Ireland and Australia and reached No.2 on the Billboard 200.
