A New York home owned by former Kiss star Ace Frehley has been heavily damaged by fire after a blaze broke out at the property on Saturday (14Dec13).

Firefighters were called to the Yorktown Heights house late on Saturday morning to tackle flames which had engulfed the roof of the building.

No one is believed to have been injured during the incident, although Red Cross charity officials had to help a caretaker who had been living in the pad find emergency housing, according to local reports.

Frehley, who was not present during the fire, has reportedly been fighting foreclosure on the property. The house once served as a recording studio, but was later turned into a residence.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
