We've just heard some new information about Kit Harington's beard. Or lack of. Apparently, his recent shave could be to do with making an appearance in the next 'Call Of Duty' game as a video surfaces online of the actor apparently undergoing some sort of animation process.

It's still a rumour, but the video footage shows the 'Game Of Thrones' star pulling weird faces as he is being wheeled into some kind of cage bedecked in lighting. Experts have suggested that this is part of the process of animating actors for CGI films and video games, and 'Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare' is out in November, so...

'I'm doing what's called a shave test or something', he told Digital Spy about removing his favial hair. 'For my next job I have to work out how quickly I can grow a beard. To do that, I have to shave. So I'm not having to take selfies everyday, it's not fun!'

What that's got to do with 'Call Of Duty' we don't know, unless it's some hyper-realistic story-arc that sees his character visually progress through time. He's currently starring in 'Doctor Faustus' which doesn't portray him with a beard.

While fans are speculating over the different reasons Harington could be changing his look, the actor is finding the whole situation rather bemusing. 'I'm amazed that it makes [news]', he told Digital Spy in an interview. 'My publicist sent me some press, and it was in the Independent and the Telegraph! These are mainstream publications writing about someone's beard being shaved! Hair grows back and actors have to change their look all the time. I find it consistently entertaining.'

Fans also thought that the new look might mean the end for his 'Game Of Thrones' character Jon Snow, and indeed the actor has spoken about leaving the franchise recently. 'I will be sad to say goodbye to it, it's a very demanding piece', he said. 'In some ways it's ending at the right time in three weeks because we'll all be exhausted. It's one that will stay with me for a long time.'
