Considering that Kit Harrington has now starred in both Game of Thrones and How to Train Your Dragon 2, fans would be forgiven for assuming that he has might have a penchant for dragons. Something else he’s into, according to a recent chat with E! News is fan culture. In particular, the fact that fans ship (that’s internet speak for “want to see them end up together”) his character Jon Snow with everyone’s favorite queen by right, Daenerys Targaryen.

Does Kit Harrington ship Jon and Daenerys? Because that would be pretty cool.

"I find it wonderful that people root for anyone," Harington told E! News at the New York City screening of his highly anticipated new animated flick. "I think it's great in the show pick their favorites and want that person to win, and it's wonderful to be involved in that and be one of the people that people think should be on the throne at the end."

Cool. However impossible that pairing might be at this point in the series, we’re into Harrington being into fantasy couples. So here are a few other fan favorites.

Jaime Lannister and Brienne of Tarth. We saw a little of this dynamic last season and it was brilliant. Jaime’s sass and Brienne’s righteousness complement each other perfectly and we’d just love to see them pall around for a while after the whole Iron Throne/Wildlings/White Walkers crisis is over. Plus, being two very damaged people (though who isn’t on this show) Jaime and Brienne could help each other become better and give us mushy happy feelings at the thought.

All you need is love. And an axe, probably, if you live in Westeros.

Brienne and Margaery Tyrell. Ok, so we don’t really know either of their sexualities, but back at the Purple Wedding, Marge was dropping some pretty serious hints at Brienne. “I hope to see more of you in the future,” she said, followed by the classic Tyrell smoulder. And fanfiction writers ran with it. Kickass women ruling Westeros together? Do want.

Tyrion Lannister and books. Poor Tyrion. We love Tyrion. Everyone in Westeros has basically betrayed Tyrion. It’s alright though, if he gets out unscathed, books will always be there for him. Books will never betray him, unlike a certain prostitute-turned-handmaiden, whom we won’t mention by name.

Peter Dinklage, Game of Thrones
Tyrion Lannister - Westeros' favourite doormat.

Varys and the Iron Throne. Sure, the Realm would probably suffer, but think how happy they could make each other! It’s pretty much the Spider’s lifelong ambition to rule over the Seven Kingdoms, so you could say the Iron Throne is the love of his life.

Littlefinger and himself. Littlefinger and money. Littlefinger and creepy stalking scenes. Yes, we’re happy that poor little Sansa is finally entering the game. And yes, that was thanks to Lord Baelish’s scheming. But keeping in mind that the new heir to Winterfell is supposed to be just 13 at this point, his very un-fatherly relationship with her is pretty creepy, no? Littlefinger and money/power, on the other hand, seems like the perfect pairing.
