Kris Jenner is embarrassed by her ex-husband's gender transition, her sister Karen has claimed.

The 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star is still coming to terms with the fact her marriage ended when Bruce Jenner - who is now living as a woman called Caitlyn - decided to change sex but despite her inner turmoil, the showbiz matriarch is putting on a brave face and dealing with it as best she can.

Kris' younger sibling Karen told the new issue of Heat magazine: ''It's still so strange, all of us are trying to adjust to things because it was such a shock. I don't think anyone is used to the fact that this is Bruce. Of course, we all love Caitlyn but I felt so bad for Kris, she was so hurt and is still coming to terms with it. Kris doesn't talk about it much because she finds it embarrassing - I think she's hurt more than anything.

''But my sister is a genius at marketing so she's very good at hiding her feelings. Kris doesn't want the world to think her life is falling apart.''

Despite her current struggles, Karen believes Kris - who had two daughters, Kylie and Kendall, with Bruce - will go on to forge a strong friendship with Caitlyn once she has accepted his decision to become a woman had nothing to do with their life together.

Karen added: ''We love Bruce so much. He did a very brave thing. If it makes him happy, then it's good.

''It hasn't been fun for Kris - the whole world has seen this played out, but I think her and Caitlyn will end up as friends. This is something none of us dreamed would happen, but now only time will tell what happens next.''
