Kris Jenner has stepped in to save Caitlyn Jenner's show from cancellation.

The Olympian's E! reality series 'I Am Cait' has struggled in the ratings -- despite Caitlyn's transition being one of the biggest stories of the year -- and now E! bosses are said to be relying on the Kardashians in a bid to boost falling viewing figures.

Bosses have decided that the only way a second season will be made is if it airs after new episodes of 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians'.

A source told RadarOnline.com: '''I Am Cait' is losing viewers every week, losing viewers every week. So E! has decided that for the second season, it will air after 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians'.

''Caitlyn isn't happy that once again, she will be dependent on the Kardashians for success, and she absolutely hates losing to Kris.

''Kris has been telling producers at E!, that if she had been involved with 'I Am Cait' from the beginning, it would have been a hit.''

Kris and Caitlyn are set to come face-to-face in the next episode of 'I Am Cait', as the Kardashian matriarch confronts her ex-husband about his comments about their marriage in his Vanity Fair cover story earlier this year.

In an emotional preview clip, a tearful Kris says: ''You're sensitive and amazing to all these new people in your life, you're just not so sensitive and amazing to the family that you left behind.''

Responding to his comments in the magazine article, she adds: ''When you feel like you gave your whole life to somebody and the sum of it all was you were a distraction.''
