Lots of exciting panels to choose from, for those who managed to score a pass.
The Friday program at San Diego Comic-Con is a geek’s dream come true. The day kicks off with panels for “The World’s End” at 10AM and the upcoming Veronica Mars movie, at 11.15. For non-Marshmallows (you know who you are), that’s the project that raised $2 million in 24 hours, thanks to the sheer devotion of its fans. The panel will feature most of the movie (and original show) stars, exclusive video presentations and a Q&A session (all scheduling information, courtesy of HitFix).
Kristen Bell and co. will be on hand for a Q&A.
Following that, Universal Pictures will host a panel at 12.15, featuring first look clips from upcoming movies "Riddick," and "Kick-Ass 2." Vin Diesel, the star and producer of “Riddick” and co-stars Katee Sackhoff ("Battlestar Galactica") and Dave Bautista ("The Man with the Iron Fists") will join writer/director David Twohy to discuss the film.
Vin Diesel will grace the Universal panel.
At 4.05PM, Sony’s Screen Gems presentation will give those lucky few, who manage to score a seat, a glimpse at some of the company’s most highly anticipated movies, including the sequel to “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs,” as well as the first film from the latest young adult book series to make the big screen – Cassandra Clare’s “Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.” Another highlight of the panel will be the long awaited reveal of Sony’s remake of the iconic “RoboCop” You can bet fans will be divided over that one, but stars Samuel L. Jackson, Joel Kinnaman, Abbie Kornish and director Jose Padila will be on hand to answer questions and quell fears. There may or may not be footage revealed.
The day will close with the panel on “Metallica: Through the Never,” kicking off at 6.30PM. The band and the film’s producer Charlotte Higgins are set to unveil posters, promotional footage and more, followed by a Q&A session – provided attendees still have their hearing, of course.
Samuel L. Jackson will be there to discuss Sony's RoboCop, which has been pushed back to 2014.
