Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are officially man and wife. The long-time couple tied the knot in a low key ceremony in California earlier this week, exchanging vows in a courtroom free from prying eyes and any real attention at all. The couple of six years have been engaged since 2010, but decided to hold off their marriage until now in support of same sex marriage.

Congratulations guys!

As initially reported by TMZ, the two had a very low-key ceremony, getting hitched at the Beverly Hills County Clerk Office in front of a minuscule crowd of unspecified attendees. There was a photographer present to capture memories from the special occasion, but little else, as the two wanted as low-key a ceremony as possible.

According to an eyewitness present at the time, the pair went to the Beverly Hill clerk office to apply for a marriage license and were asked if they wanted to be married there and then in the courtroom by one of the court employees. They agreed and were married in a quickie ceremony.

The low key occasion doesn't come as a surprise as Kristen has spoken in the past about her desire to have a non-glitzy wedding ceremony. She said, "I feel like we get enough attention in our daily lives and we just want something sort of private that involves pen and paper."

After Dax's initial proposal, Kristen asked him to marry her over Twitter on 26 June this year after the Defence of Marriage Act was repealed. Dax wrote in response, "DOMA is dead. Prop 8 is dead. Now let's bring my big, gay marriage to @IMKristenBell to Life!!!!"
