Kristen Bell took to twitter to confirm her marriage to fellow actor Dax Shepard.

The post came just one day after the couple tied the knot on Oct 17th at a ceremony held in Beverly Hills, LA.

Bell shared, "Wife coffee tastes way better than regular coffee in the morning :)" whilst tagging Shepard's twitter handle.

The couple have been dating since 2007 and they already have a seven month old daughter together called Lincoln, who was born in March.

The pair always stated that they would not get married until it is legal for gay couples to wed in the state of California, Bell told People magazine in August 2012, "We would feel weird taking advantage of a right that's not available to certain citizens of the state we live in."

Shepard also added, "When they legalize marriage for everyone ... we will get married."

The couple became engaged three years ago in January 2010 but at the time Shepard said that the discreet couple are not interested in having a big ceremony, "We will not have a wedding, we will just quietly get married".

The 'Defence of Marriage' act was revoked on June 26th 2013 and almost immediately Bell proposed to Shepard on twitter!

TMZ first reported the couple's ceremony was very small indeed, and was held at the Beverly Hill County Clerk Office, where Kristen was spotted crying when they exchanged vows. The report also states the couple only intended to get their marriage licence but an employee from the court offered to marry them, they agreed and the ceremony was held in a nearby courtroom.

Bell discussed getting a courthouse marriage in the past, "I feel like we get enough attention in our daily lives and we just want something sort of private that involves pen and paper."

Us Weekly also reported a source close to the couple told them, "It wasn't any particular pressure put on them, but having a baby now did push them towards making everything a bit more official, just to be seen as husband and wife officially for the sake of Lincoln."

Congrats to the newlyweds of Kristen and Dax, who co-starred together in the 2012 comedy 'Hit and Run'.
