Kristen Stewart hasn't ruled out taking on the lead role in the movie adaptation of the best-selling Fifty Shades of Grey novel. The role of Anastasia Steele, the main female character is still up for grabs and the question of who is going to fill it is the subject of eager debate right now. Robert Pattinson has also been suggested as the male lead. If the two Twilight stars did sign on to the movie, it would make for a bizarre twist of events, as Fifty Shades of Grey started out life as a piece of fan-fiction, based on Stephenie Meyer's Twilight novels.
Australia's Moviefix reportedly asked Stewart if she'd consider the role, to which she replied "I don't know yet, I haven't finished reading the book." Not exactly the biggest display of enthusiasm, but certainly not a 'no,' either. If Stewart does get around to finishing the raunchy novel and fancies her chances at playing Anastasia, she could well have a fight on her hands for the role. Selena Gomez has ruled herself out of the running, but Emma Roberts has said that she would be interested in the role.
Earlier this week, it was announced that Fifty Shades of Grey, written by EL James, had overtaken both Jk Rowling's Harry Potter books and Meyer's Twilight books, becoming the fastest-selling paperback of all time. James has now signed a publishing deal worth around 4 million pound.
