The Hero - Trailer and Clips

Lee Hayden (Sam Elliott) is a former Western actor who, in his advancing years, no longer gets offered any work - apart from the odd commercial voiceover. He is, however, being offered a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Western Appreciation Guild in honour of his work, but it's little comfort when he's only ever done one movie he's actually proud of. Nowadays he spends his days smoking pot with his old co-star Jeremy (Nick Offerman), but his floundering career is not the only thing he has to contend with; he has been diagnosed with cancer. Plus, his relationship with his estranged daughter Lucy (Krysten Ritter) is looking irreparable. However, when he meets a young comedian named Charlotte (Laura Prepon), he finds himself with a new lease of life - something that only improves when his award acceptance speech incites a flurry of new job offers.

Marvel's 'Jessica Jones' Season 2 Begins Filming

Krysten Ritter

In 2015, Marvel series 'Jessica Jones' hit Netflix as part of their collaborative project which would bring four lesser-known heroes from the pages of Marvel comic books to the small screen. Jones was amongst those heroes and faced a tough task in gaining the same sort of attention Charlie Cox had garnered with his take on Daredevil in the previous Marvel series of the same name.

Fortunately, the show proved to be a roaring success both critically and commercially, paving the way for the now-aired 'Luke Cage' and 'Iron Fist' debut seasons, as well as 'Daredevil' season 2. In fact, it was such a hit with the viewers that a second season was almost immediately ordered, giving viewers another chance to follow the adventures of one of the world's most interesting comic book personalities.

Veronica Mars Review

Very Good

Funded by fans, this follow-up to the cult TV show feels a lot like an extended reunion episode. But even those unfamiliar with the series will enjoy the twisty plot and smart dialog, plus the sparky Kristen Bell in the title role. And while there are rather too many characters for a stand-alone movie, they all feed nicely into the central mystery.

After escaping from the run-down seaside town of Neptune, California, nine years ago, Veronica (Bell) has become a New York lawyer. But just as she's on the verge of landing her first proper job, an old friend is murdered back home, waking her investigatory instincts. The worst of it is that her ex Logan (Dohring) is the prime suspect, so Veronica heads home to help him clear his name. Her private eye dad (Colantoni) just rolls his eyes when she slips back into her old mystery-solving role, working with her pals Mac, Weevil and Wallace (Majorino, Capra and Daggs). But three other classmates - Gia, Cobb and Dick (Ritter, Starr and Hansen) - are also involved. And the fact that she keeps putting off her return to New York annoys her boyfriend Piz (Lowell).

The most refreshing thing about this film is the way filmmaker Thomas refuses to play by the usual rules. Bell may have been offered a dream job, but we fully understand why she's blowing it off to help her friends. And the whodunit plot is just intriguing enough to hold our interest: we don't really care who the villain really is, but it's fun to watch Veronica dig through the clues and challenge every level of authority. And the script gleefully stirs in red herrings, side-plots and lots of suspicious-looking characters.

50 Shades Of Grey Movies Gets A Release Date: The Story So Far

Sam Taylor-Wood Mila Kunis Emma Watson Alexis Bledel Ian Somerhalder Stephen Amell Robert Pattinson Krysten Ritter

50 Shades Of Grey just became the biggest movie event of summer 2014 that isn't about super heroes, with Universal announcing their plans to have the film out by August 1 2014. The film will be quite the change from Guardians of the Galaxy, the Amazing Spider-Man 2 and X Men: Days of Future Past, but with a director, script and now a release date all lined up, the much-discussed movie adaption looks like it might finally happen after all. Still no work on who will be in it though, but that's just details.

So we know when the movie should be out, and providing director Sam Taylor-Johnson can keep things on track as soon as we get our Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey, then things are looking good. Taylor-Johnson was chosen to take on directing duties earlier this month and her announcement behind the camera has obviously given the producers confidence enough to push forward and commit to a date for when we'll see it on screen. Relatively inexperienced as a director, Taylor-Johnson could prove a competent pick nonetheless having achieved praise for her only work so far; the John Lennon biopic Nowhere Boy.

The stars were out in force on Wednesday (January 16, 2013) for the grand opening of Las Vegas’ hottest new restaurant, Andrea’s. George Clooney’s current squeeze Stacy Keibler stepped out solo, while Twilight actress Ashley Greene, Krysten Ritter and model Kate Upton also turned up of the occasion. Lord of the Rings star Elijah Wood was the guest DJ for the evening.

Andrea’s is the latest enterprise from hotel mogul Steve Wynn and wife Andrea, specializing in Asian cuisine. Though we were a little surprised to see Keibler without her boyfriend George Clooney, it’s perhaps no surprise to learn that The Descendants star launched his own tequila Casamigos at Andrea’s last week. It’s shaping up to be “the place to be seen” in Las Vegas – something highlighted by the guest-list on Wednesday. It’s billed as the first Wynn restaurant to be “integrated into a club experience,” and its location, adjacent to the Encore Beach Club and Surrender Nightclub complex, makes it perfect for a light bite, a drink and a dance. Las Vegas DJ Steve Angello, of Swedish House Mafia fame, has been hired to direct the music programme. He will produce exclusive music mixes designed to fit with the restaurant’s “state-of-the-art audio and lighting system,” by the award winning John Lyons Systems.

50 Shades Of Grey Film Rumour #998 - Chris Hemsworth And Krysten Ritter

Chris Hemsworth Krysten Ritter

Before 50 Shades of Grey had even been commissioned for the big screen, fans of the book were discussing who they'd want to see play Christian Grey, one of the two central characters of the book. Having become one of the most read books of the decade, it is quickly becoming one of the most talked about films and more and more rumours keep finding their way into the mill. The latest two to hit are about Chris Hemsworth and Krysten Ritter.

According to the International Business Times, the race is now between the star of Thor, Hemsworth, and Stephen Amell from Arrow. Apparently, Hemsworth's foray in upcoming movie Rush, in which he has a number of nude scenes, has persuaded the 50 Shades producers that he'd be ideal. Having been questioned about it though, it appears he remains unsure and unenthused at the prospect.

In contrast however, Krysten Ritter from Breaking Bad has expressed her interest in the project via Twitter. In a retweet and reply to a twitter user she said she's be 'down for' playing Ana.

Hot Tickets! This Weekend's US Cinema Releases: Flight, Wreck It Ralph, The Man With The Iron Fists, Vamps

Denzel Washington John C Reilly Jack McBrayer RZA Russell Crowe Lucy Liu Eli Roth Robert Rodriguez Alicia Silverstone Krysten Ritter

All eyes are on Flight and Wreck It Ralph this weekend as the main contenders for box office glory. Denzel Washington’s performance in Flight has already sparked whispers of an Oscar nomination from insiders, something that’s always guaranteed to get people fleeing to the movie theaters. However, with much of the East coast of the USA blighted by Hurricane Sandy earlier in the week, the attentions of much of the US public will be elsewhere as people try to recover from the devastation caused there.

Denzel Washington last won an Oscar in 2002, for the crime thriller Training Day. Flight is Washington’s latest stab at the prize. Described on Rotten Tomatoes as an “action packed mystery thriller,” Denzel plays the lead role of the pilot Whip Whitaker, who manages to land a passenger plane after a mid-air catastrophe and saves everyone on board. After being hailed as a hero, it soon becomes clear that something may be amiss with Whitaker and all is not as it seems.

The critical response to Flight has been largely positive, with Roger Ebert hinting at the power of Denzel’s performance by saying “Not often does a movie character make such a harrowing personal journey that keeps us in deep sympathy all of the way.” High praise indeed from Ebert. In fact, the bulk of the praise for Flight is centered on Washington; Rolling Stone’s Peter Travers surmises “Flight reminds us of what Washington can do when a role hits him with a challenge that would floor a lesser actor. He's a ball of fire, and his detailed, depth-charged, bruisingly true performance will be talked about for years.” Sounds like one not to be missed! Wreck It Ralph might not have ‘Oscar Winner’ stamped all over it but it’s still shaping up to be a strong contender in the popularity stakes this weekend, with only one dissenter failing to give it the thumbs up on Rotten Tomatoes’ round-up of the top critics’ remarks.

'Don't Trust The B---- In Apartment 23' Makes Welcome Return To TV Screens

Krysten Ritter James Van Der Beek

The first series of Don't Trust The B---- In Apartment 23 was slightly short-lived, so tonight's (October, 23 2012) season 2 premiere will mark a welcome return for fans of the show.

"We want to have fun with these characters and have people get to know them and just see how outrageous and irreverent and a little bit dangerous they are," creator Nahnatchka Khan told USA Today. "We'll have some fun little growths for June, Chloe (and) James. We have some fun places we're taking them." But fans of Chloe's razor like wit, and sharp comebacks will be pleased, as they won't be omitted from her character: "You can't have a bad girl and not make her bad," explains Kahn. Bad girl Chloe is portrayed by Krysten Ritter, who enjoyed a short but popular role in AMC's Breaking Bad as the girlfriend of Jesse Pinkman. "Chloe is so outrageous and so over the top," Ritter says of her mean, amoral character, who so gracefully provides the b***h in the title. "I just love that she's so out there and edgy and marching to her own drum," Ritter says. "She's insane. She's a sociopath."

Vamps Trailer

Stacey and Goody are two vampires cursed to remain young and beautiful forever after being bitten and changed in the 19th Century. Whilst they have dated numerous men in the past, they still prove to be putty in the hands of love when Stacey falls for the son of the notorious vampire hunter Dr Van Helsing. Joey Van Helsing is equally as taken with her as she is with him, however his father immediately knows Stacey's secret and tries to warn Joey but to no avail. He gets together an angry mob of hunters who threaten to expose the coffin-lounging lady vamps to the sunlight they hate so much - always being slaves to the night when they spend their time partying. When Goody meets her dream man from years ago, both girls are faced with a choice: eternal immortality or love.

This side-splitting Rom Com is a brilliantly light-hearted take on the classic vampire; the perfect comic relief after the serious subject matter of modern vamp stories 'Twilight', 'True Blood' and 'Vampire Diaries'. It has been directed and written by Amy Heckerling; the writer of high-school parody series 'Clueless' and movies 'Loser' and 'Look Who's Talking' and has the same hilarious style of humour that has captured audiences since the '90s. 'Vamps' is set for release on November 2nd 2012 in the USA.

Starring: Alicia Silverstone, Krysten Ritter, Richard Lewis, Sigourney Weaver, Wallace Shawn, Justin Kirk, Malcolm McDowell, Zak Orth, Marilu Henner, Scott Thomson, Todd Barry, Kristen Johnston, Natalie Gal, Meredith Scott Lynn, Joel Michaely and Dan Stevens.
