Fans of tragic Nirvana star Kurt Cobain gathered at one of the rocker's famous sanctuary spots on Tuesday (05Apr11) for the unveiling of a guitar memorial to mark the 17th anniversary of his death.
Cobain, who committed suicide in 1994, was honoured with a 13-foot (3.9 meter) statue of a guitar, created by artist Lora Malakoff, in an Aberdeen, Washington park.
Malakoff tells Tmz.com the site of the statue is important - the guitar will rest near the infamous Young Street Bridge, which the musician often sought refuge under to write lyrics.
