The unlikely duo have covered Yazoo's Only You
Three of the most unlikely things have come together to make everyone’s Christmas complete. Firstly, take Pop Princess With the Perfect Bottom, Kylie Minogue. Then add a little British Comedian Gone Across The Pond, James Corden. Finally, sprinkle a bit of 1980s Yazoo and you’ve got a delightful new Christmas cover single.
Kylie Minogue has come over all Christmassy
Kylie and Corden have joined forces to provide a Christmassy version of Only You and Mr Corden is not as bad a singer as people may at first think.
The 24 year old was asked about her upcoming stint as a panellist on 'The Voice' when she spoke about the music industry.
British pop star Rita Ora has claimed that it is harder for women to make their way in the music industry than it is for men.
Speaking to the Mirror, the 24 year old singer was asked about her appointment to the panel of ‘The Voice’, when she said: “Without pulling the whole female card, I think it has always been harder for females in all aspects. Whenever we have an opinion it always seems to be taken out of proportion.”

A fictional account of 24 hours in the life of Nick Cave has received critical acclaim.
Nick Cave's talent for songwriting had never been disputed. In fact, many would consider the Australian amongst our generation's most talented songsmiths and so it came as no surprise that his screenwriting debut, 2007's The Proposition, was heralded as a sharp, sprawling epic.
Cave's new movie, 20,000 Days on Earth, has been in development for some time. The musician co-wrote and stars in the film, about a fictional 24 hours in the life of the Bad Seeds man. It premiered in-competition in the World Cinema Documentary Competition at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival in January, winning two awards. And now, on the eve of its bow in the cinemas, critics agree that 20,000 Days on Earth is one of the most intriguing movies of the year.

Jenny Lewis isn't the only former actress to find musical success.
There seems to be a special musical buzz in the entertainment business at the moment reserved for screen actresses who are wanting to spread their wings in their career - and maybe earn some more money too. Whether it's Nickelodeon star Ariana Grande blowing everyone away with her stunning vocal range as she gears up to release her second album this summer, or indie favourite Jenny Lewis becoming ever more successful with her solo singing career after a good three years fronting a band, it appears that some actresses just can't resist testing their pipes in the recording studio. Even Hollywood sensation Scarlett Johansson dipped her toes in musical waters back in 2008 with her well-praised debut 'Anywhere I Lay My Head'.
While we're half expecting Keira Knightley to release a record any day now after singing on her latest drama 'Begin Again', we look at the film world's biggest female musical successes.
Jenny Lewis: Singer-songwriter Jenny Lewis this week released Voyager, her critically acclaimed third studio album. Although best known for her time fronting indie favourites, Rilo Kiley, music wasn't actually Lewis's first career choice, instead the Vegas native was intially known as an actress. Her early showbiz experience mainly consisted of TV roles, with small parts in the likes of 'Baywatch', 'Brooklyn Bridge' and 'The New Twilight Zone' in the 80s and early 90s as well as film stints on 'Troop Beverly Hills' and 'The Wizard'. Her last major acting venture came with 1995's black and white drama 'Don's Plum' alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire before she formed Rilo Kiley with then-boyfriend Blake Sennett.

In true Nick Cave style, the lines between real-life and fiction are blurred in a drama documentary based on a supposed 24 hours in the life of this seminal Australian rocker. He contemplates his 20,000th day on Earth as he explores his earliest memories, his biggest influences, his biggest dreams and his darkest fears. We see how his creative impulses are brought to life and how he feels transformed during his highly exciting stage performances.
Nick Cave has been the frontman of alternative rock band Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds since 1983, with the group only recently landing their first number one in their native Australia with 2013 album 'Push the Sky Away'. Cave has had a fulfilling creative career outside of the band too, having authored several books and composed several film scores - including this one.
'20,000 Days On Earth' has been artistically directed by film collaborators Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard ('Do You Love Me Like I Love You', 'Run for Me'). It's evocative presmise won it the FIPRESCI Prize at the Istanbul International Film Festival and two awards for directing and editing at Sundance. The movie is scheduled to hit cinemas in the UK on September 19th 2014.
Kylie Minogue looked dazzling in white as she smiled at the paparazzi and chatted to some reporters on the red carpet at the 25th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in New York. The singer has long been an advocate for LGBT causes among her many humanitarian ventures.
Kaiser Chief's frontman Ricky Wilson is still unsure whether or not he will return for the fourth series of 'The Voice UK'.
Ricky Wilson, a popular coach on The Voice UK, has revealed he hasn’t yet been signed on to return to the talent show for the next series. When asked by The Sun whether he would be returning for the next season of the show, Wilson replied, “I haven’t been asked yet, for a start.”
It's still unclear whether Ricky Wilson will return to The Voice UK
Wilson indicated that fellow coach Kylie Minogue’s decision to leave the show may impact his own decision on whether or not to return. “It would be weird doing it without Kylie,” Wilson explained, “She helped me get over the edge…Kylie, Tom Jones and Will.I.Am were a huge part of the experience. If I do it again I will definitely miss her.”
Kylie confirms The Voice bosses' worst fears
The Voice may have been given a popularity boost via a certain Australian popstar, but it’ll have to source a new famous face for next season as Kylie Minogue has confirmed she won’t be returning as judge.

Kylie Minogue has quit The Voice after just one season.
Signing up Kylie Minogue for The Voice was the BBC's way of proving that this singing contest - with its spinning chairs and blind auditions - could pack as much of a punch as The X-Factor, despite losing Danny O'Donoghue and Jessie J following its second season. The Australian was certainly a marquee signing, and alongside Tom Jones and Will.i.am (and the fella from Kaiser Chiefs), the BBC show had a judging line-up that could rival that of its ITV rival.
Jermaine Jackman Won 'The Voice'
Now, The Voice executives are on the hunt for another big name to fill the gap left by Minogue, who has quit the show after just one season to focus on her live touring.

BBC bosses are desperate for Kylie to return
The Voice has emerged as one of the U.K’s most popular shows after a slow start in the shadow of Simon Cowell’s The Voice. Getting renewed for another season was expected, but one thing that is still up in the air is the personal; will Kylie be going for another series?
Kylie Minogue is a wanted woman
BBC One Controller Charlotte Moore said in a statement: “It’s been fantastic to see The Voice return in top form to kick start BBC One’s brilliant year so far, the new line-up has really connected with audiences and I look forward to it returning to the channel next year.”

Where will Ms. Minogue be headed to on her new album's tour?
Kylie Minogue has announced a full UK tour for her new album, Kiss Me Once. The Australian starlet will be playing 31 shows in 15 countries to promote her new pop record. Kylie will celebrate the release of her first album under Jay Z's Roc Nation label by kicking off in September in Liverpool and wrapping things up in Sheffield in November.
2014 Will See Kylie Minogue Embark On A Tour For Her Latest Album.
Credited with single-handedly reviving the BBC's singing talent contest, The Voice, the 45 year-old singer has a sizeable fan base in the UK who will no doubt be poised to snap up the tour tickets when they go on sale this Friday (21st March). Kiss Me Once sees Kylie team up with some of the hottest names in music today, including producers Sia, Stargate and Pharrell Williams.
Maybe, but not now, says Kylie
In an interview with the Daily Mail's Weekend magazine, The Voice judge Kylie Minogue has admitted that she may never have kids. With a new album – her 12 studio release – and a TV career to think about, having kids will just happens if it happens.
What happens, happens for Kylie
"I don't know how many more times I can say, if it happens, it happens. But I think maybe part of this frame of mind I'm in, trying to be calm and accepting and at peace with where I am, is really acknowledging that it just might not be written on the pages for me,” she explained. "You can't have everything, so I'd rather just focus on what I have instead of what I don't have."

The Voice would love Kylie back for more
Kylie Minogue was certainly popular with her recent stint in the U.K hosting The Voice. But the miniature pop star is to remain true to her intention to return to her homeland, despite some considerable praise. She joined Tom Jones, Will.i.am and Kaiser Chiefs front man Ricky Wilson as a mentor on the show this year, has quickly become a favourite with viewers thanks to her upbeat and friendly personality.
Kylie Minogue at The Brits
“I’m thrilled at the response to it. It’s a brilliant show because everyone gets on’ she told The Sun. “Now I’m looking forward to getting back to Australia and being on the Australian Voice.” Because of Kylie’s presence on the show, The Voice has caught up with an admittedly flagging X-Factor.

The Aussie pop star made a surprise appearance at a Kylie night to promote her new album.
We've all heard similar stories: a musical legend hops on the mic at a random karaoke to perform their own hits and the tale goes down in history. However, some stars decide to take that magic into their own hands and engineer an "impromptu" performance that quickly gets tweeted and blogged about across the world.
Kylie Brought Some Cheer To Shoreditch With A Secret Karaoke Performance.
Kylie Minogue appeared in the diddy London pub, The Old Blue Last, in Shoreditch last night for a bit of speedy publicity and a clever plug of her new album, Kiss Me Once. Due to the security detail, fans at the Kylie karaoke evening still weren't allowed near the star whilst she performed her three songs onstage so it wasn't exactly a front room party.
Kylie Minogue played a secret show in London this week.
Kylie Minogue celebrated her return to the music business by playing a secret show at The Old Blue Last pub in Shoreditch this week. The 45-year-old - now under new management - is back with a new album and fresh new sound and she played to a packed audience which included "dozens of drag queens" in London, according to the Evening Standard.

In the end, it was less of a Kylie concert and more of raucous evening of entertainment hosted by the Australian artist - who is currently judging on the BBC's The Voice. She performed three songs before running bingo and karaoke sessions.

Ricky Wilson and Kylie Minogue will join Sir Tom Jones and Will.i.am on the BBC's returning singing contest
The Voice is back, and with an almost entirely new line-up too, as the BBC's returning singing contest hopes to come back with a bang and establish itself as a favourite with the British viewing public. Having suffered in the ratings in the last season, BBC bosses are hoping that the shake-up on the show will reinvigorate it's formula and turn the show into the country's top-rated reality contest.
Kylie Minogue and Ricky Wilson join the judge's panel, taking up the spots vacated by the departing Jessie J and Danny O'Donoghue, and previous hosts Holly Willoughby and Reggie Yates have been replaced too, with Emma Willis and former JLS star Marvin Humes fronting the show this time around. The question is, will this shake up be enough to see the show surpass The X Factor as the nation's favourite singing contest? And can the show actually produce any stars this time?

The singer in the Leeds-based indie band has been chosen to replace the departing Danny O'Donoghue.
Ricky Wilson, the frontman of The Kaiser Chiefs, has been chosen to fill the remaining seat on The Voice judging panel for the next season of the BBC talent contest. Wilson has been brought in to replace the departing Danny O'Donoghue of The Script, as he joins one of four new faces joining the show.
Ricky is the final new face to be added to the show.
As the frontman of the three-time BRIT Award winners, Wilson garnered a reputation as one of the most energetic frontmen in popular music and recorded such hits as 'I Predict A Riot,' 'Oh My God' and 'Ruby.' He will join fellow newcomer Kylie Minogue, who has been chosen to replace Jessie J, as well as show stalwarts Sir Tom Jones and Will.i.am. But it isn't just Wilson and Minogue who will be joining the show for the first time, as The Voice will introduce two new hosts following the departure of Holly Willoughby and Reggie Yates. JLS singer Marvin Humes and Big Brother presenter Emma Willis have since been hired to present the show when it returns next year.

'The Voice' dealt a blow after celebs' exit, but welcomes some exciting new faces.
Holly Willoughby and Reggie Yates have become the latest names to jump ship from the BBC talent show, The Voice. The presenters join the show's judges Jessie J and Danny O'Donoghue who also revealed they wouldn't be signing up for a third series, despite the second season outperforming the first in ratings for its final episode.
Presenter Holly Willoughby Won't Be Returning To The Voice.
The remaining judges Will.i.am and Tom Jones were also reported to have been considering an exit and underwent extensive talks with the show's bosses to negotiate a contract for a third stint. Kylie Minogue and Big Brother presenter Emma Willis have both signed up to be the new female faces on the show, in the wake of Willoughby and Jessie J's departure.
In a move that could be the talent show coup of the year, Kylie Minogue has agreed a deal to be a judge on 'The Voice'
Kylie Minogue remains one of the biggest names in pop music today, with a back catalogue that most modern day pop starlets could only dream of for their future output. With this in mind, her appointment as a judge on the upcoming season of the BBC's The Voice looks as though it could be the coup of the TV talent shows, however not everyone is convinced that she'll make a convincing judge on the show.
Kylie has been brought in to add some style to the talent show
Her credentials as a pop artist need no justifying, however her credentials as a presence on television will be seriously tested when she begins her new job sitting alongside Tom Jones, Will.i.am and whoever is brought in to replace the departing Danny O'Donoghue. She is my all means a much more popular entertainer compared to Jessie, and probably more so than some of the men that she is joining, but she enters the BBC series as an inexperienced TV presenter and may struggle to assert any kind of personality and endear herself to the audience. Either that, or she'll be a massive success and be loved by all.
Kylie Minogue will have cost big bucks, but is she worth it?
The pop star, who has sold 68 million hits worldwide, replaces the outgoing Jessie J, who pulled out of the hit BBC show to concentrate on the promotion of her second album.
"I'm very excited," the Australian singer told the corporation, "I love the concept of the show and have been an avid viewer of both series. Will I be competitive? Probably more than even I imagine! Watch this space!"

Program airs tonight at 9pm British Time
Kylie Minogue is set to star opposite Peter Serafinowicz in a new comedy about Andy Warhol called Hey Diddly Dee. It’s the directorial debut of Mark Warren, star of Hustle and Mad Dogs, and he spoke to the Telegraph about what pushed him towards wanting to make his directing bow.
“I wanted to do something on acting because it’s what I know” he explained to the paper. “My theory about actors is there’s only two things they’re really concerned about: wi-fi and coffee. And if they’ve got that sorted out, everything’s going to be fine. I would have found it harder doing something heavy, I think I would have felt more at risk,” he added.
The half-hour comedy drama airs on Sky Arts Playhouse and follows the trials and tribulations of a cast and crew performing a musical about the life of the artist Andy Warhol. Matt Horne and David Harewood also star. Continuing, he said that the idea of the program came to him when he was filming Mad Dogs. “I was in the shower and I started to think about Warhol’s 15 minutes of fame, what they would be like.” Continuing, he said “I’d always start to write something and read it the next day and think, oh it’s b******s so it never went any further than that.
It's safe to say that, while television provided her with the platform she needed, Kylie Minogue is a popstar first and an actor second. But she'll be needed her skillset from the latter as she returns to TV in a black comedy drama on Sky Arts.
Hey Diddly Dee - about a group of actors putting on a play about Andy Warhol - will also star Homeland star David Harewood, and sees her in a rare television performance since she quit Neighbours to pursue an illustrious career in music. The show is by Stephen Fry and Sandi Toksvig's production company, Sprout, and written and directed by actor Marc Warren. She made a brief comeback in the Doctor Who Christmas special on BBC1 in 2007, and earned rave reviews for her most recent role in Leos Carax film, Holy Motors, last year. "I'd definitely love to do more acting. My heart cries out for it; it's such a deep longing," she told the Guardian in an interview at the time. "For years I've been waiting to get back into it and it just hasn't happened. Or, it has happened and it was so disastrous that I thought: 'Oh, it's just not for me.'"
Sky's head of drama, Anne Mensah, told journalists of the show: "I think there's a drama renaissance going on at the moment ... to add Sky to that mix, anything that Sky does makes the drama community in the UK just richer and more exciting."
Having met and performed for her on more than one occasion and being one of biggest names in modern British pop music, Robbie Williams has admitted that HRH Queen Elizabeth II still has no clue who he is.
At one point, Robbie told the crowd at last night's triumphant comeback show at London's o2 Academy, during the most recent encounter with the Royal at the Royal Variety Performance this month where Robbie shared the stage with Alicia Keys, Neil Diamond, Kylie Minogue, Andrea Bocelli and Britain's Got Talent winners Ashleigh Butler and her dog Pudsey, the Queen met with the performers after the show and apparently thought that the former Take That star was Pudsey's trainer! He told the crowd: "At the Royal Variety Performance, in the line-up afterwards, we were shaking hands... and she thought I was Pudsey's trainer."
Robbie of course also made an appearance at this years Diamond Jubilee festivities that was organised by Take That head honcho and OBE recipient Gary Barlow, and even then the Queen failed to recognise him in the proceedings after the show admitting, "she thought I was a member of congress."

Children In Need will take place under the dark shadow of the BBC's recent troubles; namely the controversy surrounding Jimmy Savile, the documentary that never was, and most recently, the false accusation of Lord McAlpine in a separate child abuse case.
But tonight, Friday November 16th, The BBC will launch into its annual philanthropic event in aid of the most vulnerable children both in the U.K and abroad. Although, the proceedings couldn't have come at a worse time, as trust in the BBC is at an all time low, and people will be hesitant in giving money to an organisation that allegedly turned a blind eye to years of systematic child abuse. Besides, giving money once a year won't solve the problems of child poverty, abuse and famine. Got a little serious there! On a lighter note, good old Kylie Minogue will be reprising her classics and belting out the hits for the show, which will be presented by Sir Terry Wogan (as always). The show will also feature the likes of Fearne Cotton, Tess Daly and Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw in a push to match last year's record on-the-night total of #26 million.
It also wouldn't be a real British event if Team GB's Olympic and Paralympic heroes didn' get involved, but thankfully, the likes of Tom Daley, Rebecca Adlington, Louis Smith and Ellie Simmonds will all be dancing in a music video.
One Direction fans, unite! Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne will be performing at The Royal Variety Performance 2012, which this year celebrates its 100th anniversary, Entertainmentwise reports.
We're not sure how much of a One Directioner The Queen is, and we can't see her pulling shapes to the boy band's biggest hits, but they're a polite bunch, and if nothing else, they'll charm the bloomers off the Monarchy. The show is not just varied by name; oldies Rod Stewart and Neil Diamond will join the young pop stars, as well as R&B giant, Alicia Keys, seasoned hitmakers Girls Aloud and Robbie Williams, and not to mention Kylie Minogue. The show will be hosted by David Walliams - which makes it a must-watch show in itself - and will, of course, also feature Britain's Got Talent winners Ashleigh and Pudsey. The show, while being a huge treat for the audience, is set to raise funds for the Entertainment Artistes' Benevolent Fund.
The Queen will be accompanied by the Duke of Edinburgh for the 100th anniversary of the event at the Royal Albert Hall on 19 November, as they look upon the stars who are aiming to maintain the retirement and nursing home in Twickenham, London.

Psychedelic Pill is the 35th studio album from Neil Young and was written and recorded in collaboration with his sometime band, Crazy Horse, marking their first album of original material since Greendale in 2003. As with many of Young’s latter-day releases, the quality is less than consistent. Reviews from The Guardian and the Independent suggest that Psychedelic Pill contains “moments of majesty,” (The Independent) as well as some less impressive tracks. It’s unlikely that any of this week’s releases are going to shake Taylor Swift from her throne at the top of the UK album chart but with reassuring reviews in the mainstream press, Psychedelic Pill should prove popular amongst Young’s considerable fanbase.
Also released today is the interestingly-titled Oui Oui Si Si Ja Ja Da Da, by veteran ska-pop band Madness. It’s the tenth studio album from Madness and contains 14 new tracks, as well as cover art from the ever popular pop-art legend Peter Blake (he designed the cover for The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band). The Guardian gave the album an impressive 3 stars out of 5 but can Madness really recapture the youthful exuberance of their glory days, with this latest album? It seems unlikely that they’ll continue to enjoy the success that they experienced in years gone by.
Sadie Frost has been cautioned for common assault, against her boyfriend James Gooding. The British actress, 47, was reportedly involved in a “bust-up” with Gooding after having dinner with him on Sunday (October 7, 2012), according to The Sun. A spokesperson for the police confirmed “A woman, aged 47, was arrested on suspicion of common assault. The man did not need hospital treatment.” James is 10 years Sadie’s junior and they have been dating since the summer; though it doesn’t seem that all is going to plan if Sadie is resorting to violence against him?
Both Sadie and James have previous form when it comes to high profile relationships. Sadie was once married to the Spandau Ballet star Gary Kemp and has a son, Finlay, from her relationship with him. She was also married to the actor Jude Law for six years and has three children with him, Rafferty, Iris and Rudy. James, on the other hand once dated Kylie Minogue, for three years. When they split, he sold his story to The Sun, publicly revealing that he had cheated on her with the model Sophie Dahl.
The actual details of James and Sadie’s spat have not been confirmed, though it is thought that Sadie visited the police station on Sunday, where she received a caution for common assault. She was spotted returning home later on Sunday evening. According to the Daily Mail, Sadie’s pal Kate Moss has already taken a dislike to James and “banned him from attending a holiday with them on their yacht in Mallorca and the south of France.”
Kylie Minogue has shown off her famous backside once again in a new spoof advertisement for body insurance. The Australian singer's pert bottom has been a talking point for well over a decade now, after she flaunted it in tiny gold hot pants for her Spinning Around music video way back 2000. It would appear that interest in her rear padding hasn't waned after all these years, and so she has unveiled her bottom again in a cheeky clip for the insurers.
The black-and-white video, filmed by British artist Katerina Jebb for her Simulacrum and Hyperbole series, shows Minogue strutting in slow motion across a room wearing a flowing white gown. Staring seductively into the camera, the Australian singing sensation then turns around to reveal that the dress has no back, before climbing a marble staircase as a voiceover asks, "Are your assets fully covered? Protect and cover the things that are most dear to you. Don't wait until tomorrow. Beautiful Body of London."
Minogue is currently stepping back into the limelight with the news that the singer is releasing a series of sessions recorded at the famous Abbey Road Studios, to mark her 25th year in entertainment. The sessions consist of some of the singer's classic songs, performed with the additional backing of an orchestra.
When Kylie Minogue hit the red carpet for the premiere of her new movie, she cut a dazzling figure in a stunning black sequinned Dolce & Gabbana gown. On Tuesday night (September 17, 2012), the UK premiere for Holy Motors took place at the Curzon Mayfair and the movie’s Aussie star made sure that she really stood out in her shimmering, floor-length frock. She finished the look off with smoky eye-shadow and dangling diamond earrings.
The movie, a French drama, also stars Denis Lavant, Edith Scob and Eva Mendes. After posing for photos on the red carpet, Kylie then “cosied up to director Leos Carax,” according to the Daily Mail. It’s a rare film role for Kylie; even though she started out as an actress – in Australian soaps such as Neighbours - she has spent the last twenty-five years focusing mainly on her music career. Speaking about her decision to take part in the movie, Kylie said “I’m always intrigued and enticed by that which I haven’t done, so… there was every reason to do it and no reason not to do it… it turned out to be one of the best experiences I’ve ever had.”
Kylie plays the role of Eva Grace (Jean) in the movie. She has her hair cropped short for the role, a far cry from the elegant long locks that she was sporting Tuesday night. There are no Kylie Minogue songs in the movie, though she does have a singing part. Holy Motors receives its general release in the UK on September 28, 2012.
Kylie Minogue has revealed she had to "stop being Kylie" for her new film role, reports The Associated Press.
Minogue came to the conclusion that she couldn’t simply be herself, and had to pretend to be someone else, in what most people universally recognise as the art of acting. This epiphany came before her role as airhostess Eva Grace in the new film, Holy Motors. "It's good to be acting again,” the pint sized pop star explained. “It terrifies me in a completely different way and I almost had to unlearn things that I just do naturally, as being 'Kylie'. So, I think I had extra work to get rid of that and to be believable as this character." Good advice to any aspiring thespians out there.
Kylie continued to elaborate on her most recent acting experience: "It was all done live in the scene. I don't know how many takes we did but it was all done in situ,” she told reporters on the red carpet for the film. “And I had to find my path to go from speaking to bursting into song, which seems quite odd. And not performing that like I would one of my own songs. My voice was more prepared than the rest of me - that's what I do. But the first time I heard the song I was welling up. It's such beautiful song, so I think that aided me." Holy Motors opens in cinemas on September 28, and has received positive reviews so far.
Successful in having been the only female artist to have number one albums across four decades, it's obvious that Kylie Minogue is more than just a household name. An icon for some and a role model for survival for others, Kylie has been dominating the pop music scene, and thus the charts, for a very long time. And from her recent offering, it seems like this engine has not ran out of steam either.
