Australian superstar Kylie Minogue gave British royal Charles, Prince Of Wales a musical send-off in London on Wednesday evening (24Oct12) as he prepared to tour parts of the Commonwealth.

The future King of England and his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, are set to visit Australia, New Zealand and Papa New Guinea to mark his mother, Queen Elizabeth Ii's 60 years on the throne.

A farewell party was thrown at St James' Palace, and a host of dignitaries and Antipodean celebrities turned out for the send-off.

Minogue took to the stage to perform three songs, including her classic hit The Loco-motion, for the Prince and his wife.

After the set, Minogue, who now resides in Britain, said, "It's been such a brilliant year to be in the U.K. and so to send the royals off on this trip it felt fitting to be part of the farewell for them.

"I was very honoured to be asked and happy I could put it in the schedule. It was really great."

Australian comic Barry Humphries, musician/artist Rolf Harris and New Zealand opera diva Dame Kiri Te Kanawa were among the 200 guests.
