Celebs have been more romantic than ever this year, making surprise appearances at ordinary couples' weddings, helping friends propose live on stage, and even popping the question themselves in front of huge audiences. And Labrinth continued the trend today (Saturday 22 August) by asking his girlfriend, Muz, to marry him, live at V Festival in Essex.

The singer-producer was performing at the annual event at Hylands Park in Chelmsford when he got down on one knee and proposed to his long-term partner, to the delight of thousands of fans.

The Mirror's on-site source said, "[Labrinth] talked about loyalty before proposing and how his girlfriend had been with him since the start of his career and stood by him."

He then asked fans to help him celebrate this special moment and promptly serenaded his new fiancee with his huge UK hit single 'Earthquake', as congratulatory messages from well-wishers started to appear online.

Later, the happy groom-to-be tweeted his fans:

There must be something in the water: last month, Ed Sheeran helped Kodaline bassist Jason Boland propose to his girlfriend live on stage at Croke Park in Dublin, and Jennifer Hudson crashed a wedding in Dallas, serenading the grooms as part of the LGBT initiative Turn It Up for Change.
