When Slater's girlfriend Nadia is kidnapped from her apartment by a violent group, his only hope of finding her lies in a mysterious organisation known as Brand New-U. They offer a unique service to their clients, identifying 'identicals' and helping people leave behind their troubled previous lives in favour of more successful and affluent lives. However, there's one rule for all involved in the program; you must take nothing with you on your new journey. Also, while it's free to all those who use it (which is just as well because Slater has found himself totally broke), he may be forced to kill his donor. All he wants is to find his lover, but that becomes a minefield of a task when there's parallel lives at every turn and it soon becomes clear that he's starting to forget himself.

Charlie Countryman is a regular guy who is prompted to travel to Bucharest in Romania after experiencing a vision of his deceased mother. However, along the way, fate intervenes when a middle-aged man dies in his sleep while seated beside Charlie, and he is suddenly embroiled in the case of his death. He meets his striking musician daughter Gabi who he vows to help find out what happened to her father, while getting involved with her party-hard, drug-taking friends. The pair begin to fall head over heels in love with each other, but when her crime boss husband Nigel appears, things take a turn for the worst for Charlie. Attempting to stand up for himself and protect his new lover, he endures several emotional and physical attacks from the ruthless Nigel before realising the only way he can save Gabi; he must die for her.

It's World War II and the German and British armies are firmly engaged in combat. However, when a group of Germans find themselves and their shot down aircraft stranded in the freezing temperatures of the Norwegian wilderness, they chance upon an unoccupied hunting cabin. They soon find that they are not alone as a group of Britons approach having also been shot down. Whilst the Brits attempt to abandon the rules of war and work together to stay alive and find help, the Germans insist upon treating them as prisoners of war. There is initial animosity amongst the rival soldiers, but the longer they spend together, the harder it becomes to maintain the invisible wall between them and they soon find themselves becoming closer. However, they all understand that once they are rescued, they must go back to fighting one another in spite of their friendship and the rules of war must take effect once more.
