Lady GaGa was the latest guest on the popular 'Late Late Show with James Corden' segment 'Carpool Karaoke' and, we have to say, it's been a long time coming. The pair sang her best hits and talked about everything from getting her driver's license to owning Michael Jackson's clothes.

Lady GagaLady Gaga finally hits 'Carpool Karaoke'

Gaga seriously gave it her all as if James' car was Madison Square Garden. In fact, it's one of the first episodes where James found himself drowned out by his Carpool Karaoke companion as they performed such monster hits as 'Perfect Illusion', 'The Edge Of Glory', 'Born This Way' and 'Poker Face'.

They kicked off with a bit of 'Move b***h, get out the way!' in the manner of Ludacris, which was quite appropriate when you consider that the pop diva has only just passed her driving test. It was an occasion that, regrettably for her, turned into a bit of a family affair. 'It was so embarrassing, my whole family came with me to the DMV', she said. 'My father cried when I got my driver's license. I was like, 'Dad, I'm 30.'' In fact, for the first time ever in 'Carpool Karaoke' history, the passenger took the wheel. James looked decidedly nervous about allowing the inexperienced Gaga to handle his vehicle, but luckily he'd brought along protective headgear.

Gaga had headgear too, though it was in the form of her recent trademark pink cowboy hat which she and James donned for a rendition of her latest single 'Million Reasons'. The star claims to own at least 400 pieces of Michael Jackson's wardrobe including the 'Thriller' jacket and one of his famous gloves. Fashion is, of course, hugely important to Gaga who thinks the point of style is to be 'unfashionable'. James even tried to recreate some of her most iconic looks including the caution tape look from the 'Telephone' video, the 2010 MTV VMAs meat dress and the red lace face look from the previous year.

Not that she needed it but Gaga and James also had a go at a few vocal warm-ups, with James suggesting she do a bit of what he calls 'the lips, the teeth, the tip of the tongue' for her headline spot at the Super Bowl LI in February. The pair also talked about writing music, Gaga claiming that many of her songs were written in just ten minutes including 'Just Dance', 'Poker Face' and 'Born This Way'. It blew James' mind when she revealed that the randomness of 'Rah-rah-ah-ah-ah-ah!/ Roma-roma-mamaa!' on 'Bad Romance' is not actually random at all; it makes more sense when you release she's actually saying the beginning of the word 'romance'.

Lady Gaga's latest album 'Joanne' is out now.
