The popstar turned actress is back in the studio.
Lady GaGa is finally returning with some new music, two years since the release of her last project 'Cheek To Cheek' with Tony Bennett. Her new single is entitled 'Perfect Illusion', and was announced via her Instagram page yesterday (August 17th 2016). No details of a new album have been announced just yet.
Lady Gaga unveils 'Perfect Illusion'
There are also very few details about 'Perfect Illusion'. Gaga transformed her Instagram feed into a colourful collage of individual segments of the single announcement, which is revealed to be out next month. We also know that she has co-produced the song alongside BloodPop, Kevin Parker from Tame Impala and Mark Ronson, the latter two having last worked together on Ronson's 2015 album 'Uptown Special'.
It is certainly a wonder how Gaga has managed to find the time to start work on a new album project, what with her venture into film and television as of late. Since the release of her collaborative pop standards number one with Tony Bennett ('Cheek To Cheek'), she has had a starring role in the fifth season of 'American Horror Story' - 'Hotel' - in which she played vampire seductress The Countess. She has also been announced to star in the as yet untitled sixth season, having scooped a Golden Globe this year for her performance.
More: Lady Gaga to star in 'A Star Is Born'
If that wasn't enough, she has also been confirmed to star in Bradley Cooper's upcoming re-boot of the 1937 classic 'A Star is Born' for Warner Bros, following in the footsteps of Janet Gaynor, Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand. She will also write the music for the movie. Gaga's last solo project was 2013's experimental 'Artpop', which took her to number one in the Album Charts for the third time and became a critical success, even if it was torn apart by a handful of critics.
'Perfect Illusion' is set to be released in September.
