Lamar Odom is beginning to piece his life back together after settling a DUI charge on Monday (Dec 9th).

The NBA player struck a deal in a "no contest" plea for the driving offence and in exchange he will be on probation on the next three years, reports TMZ.

Odom has also been ordered to be a fine of $1,814 and will have to complete an alcohol education program by June 9th (2013).

This past October Lamar pleaded not guilty to driving under the influence stemming from an arrest on August 30th at 3.25am on the Coldwater Canyon off-ramp on the 101 freeway in LA.

The 33 year-old was "unable to perform field sobriety tests" and showed signs of intoxication.

Odom also refused to take a chemical test and was booked for investigation of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and was jailed on $15,000 bail with his license revoked for one year.

The DUI arrest was followed by news of Odom struggling with substance abuse which created deep issues in his marriage to reality star Khloe Kardashian. Reports of divorce and separation have surrounded the pair since.

E!, which airs the show 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians', has reported the couple are not thinking about splitting just yet, a source told them, "Khloé is in no rush to make any decision."

This is one step in the right direction for the fallen sports star and he is now reportedly attempting to revitalise his career by training in hopes to resign with the Los Angeles Clippers.
