According to most reports, Lamar Odom hasn’t been having the best time lately. While TMZ has reported that the baller is back at home with wife Khloe Kardashian, rumors of drug abuse and marital troubles continue to pop up all over the internet. As if that’s not enough, Odom is also experiencing some career difficulties. People magazine reports that the former Clippers player might be out of a job this season. With most team rosters already filled and Odom still without a place, his prospects for this season aren’t looking too good.

Lamar's career might be threatened by his off-court exploits.

"It's almost Labor Day weekend and players are starting to return to their teams, and Lamar doesn't have a team," an NBA insider said for People. "He's gone from making $8.5 million last year to being out of work at this point."

According to Seth Burton, Director of Communications for the LA Clippers, Odom’s contract expired on July 1st and as of that date, he has been a free agent. Burton also says that Antwan Jamison has reached an agreement with the Clippers, with an official contract pending. This would mean the baller-turned-reality-star is off the team roster for good. Odom was named NBA Sixth Man of the Year in 2011 and won two NBA championships as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers, but the negative press and his own personal struggles are apparently impeding his career at this point.

Odom is reportedly working things out with his wife.

"There's an old saying in the NBA: Are you more valuable than your problems? And it's just reached the point with Lamar where he is not more valuable than his problems," says the NBA insider. Apparently, there might still be a possibility for Odom to sign with the LA Lakers. However, that would mean a significant pay decrease.
