Lana Del Ray has managed to accomplish nearly the impossible.

The 27 year-old has kept a huge aspect of her private life secret from the press.

Lana and her boyfriend Barrie-James O'Neill have been secretly engaged since last summer according to Us Weekly. 

The 'Blue Jeans' singer was asked by her beau, who plays guitar in Scottish band Kassidy, for her hand in marriage last June (2013). 

The pair began dating three years ago in 2011. They first sparked engagement rumors in July 2013 when they were snapped by paparazzi looking at properties in Los Angeles with Lana wearing a diamond ring on her left hand.

O'Neill has also featured in one of Del Ray's music videos, when debuting 'Summer Wine' video, her real-life love interest also plays the role of her on-screen love interest. 

Del Ray's songs are generally themed with losing love, and great loss, but in an interview with Complex magazine from 2012, the New Yorker admits her track 'Off to the Races' from the 'Born to Die' album celebrates finding love. 

"When I found somebody who I fell in love with, it made me feel different than I felt the rest of the day. It was electrifying. That's what inspired the 'Off to the Races' melodies," she admitted. "That's one of the times when you're feeling electrified by someone else and they make you happy to be alive."

Meanwhile, Lana's song 'Summertime Sadness' was honored at the 2014 Grammys with 'Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical', though award is presented to Cedric Gervais as he remixed the track.
