The release of Lana Del Rey's debut album has been greatly anticipated, since the lead single, 'Video Games', was released last year (2011) but the 25 year-old singer songwriter has told MTV that she still keeps on her babysitting job when she's at home. Whilst explaining to reporters that she still leads a relatively normal life, the 'Born To Die' star said "I babysit twice a week. When I'm here it's what I do. It's just because it's something I've been doing for a while."

Lana has been the subject of a huge amount of internet-based discussion since she rose to fame with the success of 'Video Games'. It's not just her music at the centre of these discussions, though; her image, the suggestion that she may have had cosmetic enhancements to her appearance, and the apparent wealth of her family have all become subjects for public scrutiny. A recent live appearance on Saturday Night Live did not seem to go according to plan and her performance was lambasted by bloggers across the globe. The overwhelming sentiment in reviews for her debut album seems to be one of disappointment.

The music industry hasn't given up on Lizzie Grant (Lana Del Rey's real name) just yet, though. She has a nomination for the International Breakthrough Act at this year's BRIT awards and Mtv have shortlisted her in their annual 'Brand New' award as well. If all goes to plan, she may not find time for her babysitting duties for too much longer.
