Lana Del Rey has made amends with Frances Bean Cobain.

In a recent interview with the Guardian, Del Rey discussed her musical idols including Amy Winehouse and Kurt Cobain. She reportedly said "I wish I was dead already," a remark which prompted Cobain to point out her own personal tragedy. Cobain was less than two years old when her father Kurt died at the age of 27.

After her comments attracted media attention Cobain tweeted one last time specifically directed at Del Rey. Cobain wrote: "I'm not attacking anyone. I have no animosity towards Lana, I was just trying to put things in perspective from personal experience."

Del Rey responded via Twitter, although she later deleted the tweets. As the BBC reports Del Rey wrote that she understood where Cobain was coming from but her words in the interview had been misconstrued, that she appreciated Cobain for his talent not his tragic end. She continued by blaming the journalist who had conducted the interview and the editor.

Del Rey said "It's all good. He [the journalist] was asking me a lot about your dad. I said I liked him because he was talented not because he died young." The 28-year-old further emphasised how she didn't think death was glamorous, stating "I don't find that part of music glam either."

She further explained how the journalist, Alexis Petridis, had deliberately created leading questions and she had been dubbed into answer them inappropriately. Del Rey wrote "Alexis was masked as a fan but was hiding sinister ambitions and angles Maybe he's actually the boring one looking for something interesting to write about." She added "His leading questions about death and persona were calculated."
