Much-maligned pop star Lana Del Rey has something to smile about three weeks after she was blasted for her performance on U.S. comedy show Saturday Night Live - she has scored a number one album in Britain.
The New Yorker debuted Born To Die at the top of the charts on Sunday (05Feb12) - one spot ahead of Leonard Cohen's new album Old Ideas.
The chart news comes a day after Del Rey was defended in a skit on Snl, during which comedienne Kristen Wiig - portraying the singer - attempted to explain her odd performance on the programme last month (Jan12).
Meanwhile, David Guetta's Titanium has hit the top of the U.K. singles chart. Canadian Alyssa Reid enters at two with Alone Again.
