Lana Del Rey wishes she was dead.

The 27-year-old singer claims she and her boyfriend, Barrie-James O'Neill, are inspired by musicians such as Amy Winehouse and Kurt Cobain - who both died at the age of 27 - and she sometimes wishes could join the mythical 27 club.

Quizzed on whether she sees early death as glamorous, she said: ''Umm, yeah. I wish I was dead already ... I don't want to keep doing this. But I am.''

When asked what it is she doesn't want to be a musician any more, she added to The Guardian newspaper: ''(It's) everything. That's just how I feel. If it wasn't that way, then I wouldn't say it. I would be scared if I knew death was coming, but...''

The 'Born to Die' hitmaker insists it annoys her when people claim they wish they could lead the same life as her, as they don't understand the challenges she and Barrie-James face as musicians.

Lana explained: ''Family members will come on the road with me and say, 'Wow, your life is just like a movie!' And I'm like, 'Yeah, a really f***ed-up movie.' ''

She added: ''We [Lana and Barrie] have a difficult road. He's a very dark character. He has months where it's a really dark stretch of writing and waiting, he has his total own world so...''
