Liz Flynt, Senior Vice President, Administration for Larry Flynt Publications says, "Were hoping people who see such a well-known local landmark so unusually dark will follow our lead and do the same in their own homes. A group effort such as this can lead to real change."
The Flynt Building will join other famed structures, like the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, Romes Colosseum and the Sydney Opera House, which have all turned off the lights in support of the World Wildlife Funds Earth Hour initiative.
And Las Vegas performers Donny and Marie Osmond will front a big pull-the-plug effort in Sin City on Saturday night.
Casinos and hotels on the Las Vegas Strip will turn off their lights for an hour to promote energy conservation awareness.
