Lauren Conrad is scared to wear swimsuits in case people see her cellulite.

The former 'The Hills' star has avoided slipping her enviable body into any revealing bathing costumes for years in Los Angeles because of a photograph which was published which showed she had dimply fat on her legs.

But Lauren took the step to show off her body during a trip to Cabo, Mexico, and she is glad she did.

She admitted: ''On a vacation to Cabo, I wore a bathing suit on the beach for the first time in years. Usually I'm just petrified. A couple of years ago someone zoomed in on my cellulite and it was so mean. I took it really personally. I haven't worn a bathing suit in LA in years because of that.''

Lauren - who first shot to fame in 'Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County' - admits the attention fame brings is just a reality she has to live with.

The 26-year-old blonde always laughs off the seemingly endless dating rumours she attracts because her love life is far less exciting than people may think.

In an interview with the new US issue of Glamour magazine, she said: ''I wish I dated as much as people thought I did! It's really funny because almost everyone that I'm reportedly 'dating' is a friend of mine. About half my friends are guys, and I've always gotten along really well with guys. You just have to laugh at it.''

Lauren has previously been in relationships with actor Kyle Howard and her 'The Hills' co-stars Brody Jenner and Lo Bosworth.

Since MTV reality show 'The Hills' wrapped in 2010 Lauren admits she and her castmates - who include Audrina Patridge, Heidi Montag, Kristin Cavallari and Spencer Pratt - have drifted apart.

She revealed: ''The show is what brought a lot of us together, and when it was gone, we didn't have anything in Common any more.''
