Frontman James Murphy announced the dance act was "retiring from the game" in 2011, and he and his bandmates played their final concert at New York's Madison Square Garden later that year, but on Thursday (08Oct15), speculation surfaced Murphy was secretly planning a comeback for next year (16).

Multiple reports suggested he has signed on to headline at least three high-profile music festivals, including Coachella in California.

Shortly after the news hit headlines, Kris Petersen, the label manager for LCD Soundsystem's DFA Records, took to Twitter.com with a heated rant, shooting down speculation of a reunion.

"Hey idiots, LCD Soundsystem isn't reuniting," he wrote. "They're dead, along with your good looks and cultural relevance."

Petersen also released a statement to Vulture.com, saying, "LCD Soundsystem is not reuniting at Coachella next year. I'm sure some festivals have offered the group a giant tempting pile of money, but there is no truth to this. Can we all just move on with our f**king lives?"
