Perhaps he’s method acting; perhaps he’s just famous and can do what he wants – either way, Leonardo Dicaprio didn’t let his seemingly insignificant 39th birthday pass him by as he celebrated until 4am at TAO, in downtown New York. Special guests included 2Chainz and Kanye West, who, between them, saw the crows entertained with rap music until the wee hours of the morning.

Leo was even seen dancing on stage with them, according to The Daily Mail. Orlando Bloom, Benicio Del Toro, A-Rod, Derek Jeter, Tobey Maguire, Nicky Hilton and rapper Busta Rhymes also showed up. DiCaprio plays Jordan Belfort – a rich and very much corrupt stockbroker living the high life - in Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street. It's one of the hottest movies of the year, but can it contend for awards?

Leo’s Sunday night birthday bash is reminiscent of the trailer for the new movie, which is due to come out on Christmas Day in the U.S – Jan 17 in the U.K. It wasn’t all frivolity and gluttony though; the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation, an organization dedicated to creating harmony between humanity and the natural world, is said to have benefited to the tune of $3m because of the part. Nice.

The Django actor might be moving to 5th avenue soon, too. More method acting? He’s checking out a 4,326 sq ft, environmentally-friendly, three-bedroom apartment with a library. It costs $12m. But who cares, right? Leo recently drew the wrath of George Clooney in an uncharacteristically candid interview with Esquire Magazine. In it, the Monuments Men actor questioned the now 39-year-old’s company, before alluding to a strange sounding baseball match.

"How important it is to have someone in your life to tell you what's what. I'm not sure if Leo has someone like that, explained Clooney, referring to Leo’s notorious antics outside of his work life. "The thing about playing Leo” (in this baseball game) “is you have all these guys talking sh*t … [But] they they can't play at all. We're all like 50 years old, and we beat them three straight: 11–0, 11–0, 11–0." We’re not sure if ol’ Cloondog is annoyed at Leo for being cocky or bad at baseball; either way, he’s not happy.
