Liam Gallagher has rounded up his rock pals Paul Weller, Primal Scream and Richard Ashcroft to appear at a benefit show he's organised for aid efforts in Japan.
The former Oasis star's new band Beady Eye will headline the gig at London's Brixton O2 Academy next month (03Apr11), with proceeds going to the relief fund for survivors of the devastating earthquake and tsunami.
Other artists set to appear at the gig include The Coral and former Blur star Graham Coxon.
A statement posted on the Beady Eye website reads, "London is set to stage a very special one off concert in aid of Japan Earthquake victims. With images beamed worldwide as they occurred, the horrific tragedy that beset Japan in recent days has affected everybody.
"In response, a collection of Britain’s finest rock musicians have heeded the rallying call and come together to present a very special one off event... The show has been hastily arranged to help benefit those who have been affected by the recent earthquakes and subsequent tsunami in Japan... Beady Eye - who still have fond memories of their concert in Sendai as Oasis in 2002 - are delighted their idea for a benefit gig has come together so quickly and with such fantastic support."
More than 18,000 people are feared dead in the aftermath of the 9.0-magnitude tremor and subsequent tidal wave that hit Japan's east coast on 11 March (11).
