Liam Neeson, who has been repackaged as a global action star since Taken, stars in the new suspense thriller Non-Stop from director Jaume Collet-Serra and producer Joel Silver. Out this weekend, the movie also stars Julianne Moore - but is it worth the admission price?

Neeson stars as U.S. Air Marshal Bill Marks, who receives a series of cryptic text messages demanding that he instruct the government to transfer $150 million into an off-shore account, with a passenger on his flight being killed every 20 minutes in the meantime.

"Nobody's demanding an action-thriller plot that's 100 percent plausible. But is 55 percent too much to ask?" asked the Village Voice's Stephanie Zacharek in her review of the movie.

"Neeson spends the movie looking pained, as though he's contemplating the size of the tax bite on his forgettable as an airline meal and about as flavorful," said Marshall Fine of Hollwood & Fine.

"Neeson is worth the price of admission all by himself" wrote Roger Moore of McClatchy-Tribune News Service.

"This ridiculously entertaining thriller barely pauses for breath from the moment it leaves the runway" wrote Andy Lea in his positive review for the Daily Star.

As well as its A-list leads, Non-Stop also stars Downton Abbey's Michelle Dockery and the Oscar nominee Lupita Nyongo

During an interview with the Independent, Dockery admitted that Neeson is actually a "very gentle, softly-spoken man," though added, "I wouldn't want to cross him though."

The third instalment of Neeson's action vehicle Taken goes into production later this year, with the Irish actor promising a "really, really good story." The actor told UK late night host Jonathan Ross, "They called me up and I said "I'll do it. but only as long as nobody gets Taken."
