Having welcomed his son with his girlfriend Cheryl just over a month ago, Liam Payne has spoken about his experiences with first-time fatherhood, admitting that he spends a lot of his time in front of daytime television.

The former One Direction star, 23, let slip that the last five or so weeks of new parenthood have got him hooked on ‘Judge Rinder’, and that he regularly watches it with Cheryl and their newborn son Bear at the family home in Surrey.

The revelation came as Payne signed autographs in London. A fan approached him for his signature, to which the singer responded that he recognised the man from the hit ITV series.

It’s not exactly clear when this happened, but Payne said that the band and their entourage were staying in Trump’s hotel in New York City and catching up on their sleep, when a request came from on high for 1D to meet the new POTUS’s kid.

Being caught with a joint is really nothing new in the world of pop, especially amongst those aggressively seeking a change of image that will subsequently add a semblance of ‘edge’ to their persona. For child stars especially, in attempts to free themselves from their enforced clean-cut youth and iconic childhood roles, to indulge in the smoking of marijuana is the go-to method of both distancing oneself from the past and declaring oneself as a fully independent adult.

The group have come under fire from the tabloids for Zayn and Louis' actions.

The celebrity world abounds with examples of such exploits. Remember the media storm over Justin Bieber’s incident with a “suspicious cigarette” or Miley Cyrus’ bong exploits, which have now evolved into her free and consistent utilization of marijuana symbolism? The celebrity media loves a scandal more than a Republican loves his right to bear firearms, but whilst the current One Direction drug ‘scandal’ has rather predictably been plastered all over the tabloid’s front pages, the majority of the public greets it with a collective shrug of the shoulders. They are, after all, adolescents- the prime age for indulging in experimentation with illicit substances and activities. Most adults will have indulged in similar instances of experimentation with an array substances at a similar age to these patchy-bearded pop stars. In terms of the pop world, this particular act has been seen many times before; so many times, in fact, that the whole ‘rebellion’ phase is part and parcel of the child actor discourse. Some take it just a little too far, and the ensuing descent into drugs has unfortunately claimed the lives of many of Hollywood’s exploited youngsters.

One Direction may have walked away with their fourth BRIT award on Wednesday (this time the award acknowledged their Global Success) but that hasn’t stopped talk of One Direction splitting up. 1D was formed in 2010 after they finished third in the seventh series of The X Factor and have since gone on to achieve worldwide fame, as well as accumulating an extremely spirited and vocal bunch of fans along the way. Their three albums have broken all sorts of records and have topped global charts so the last thing that anybody expected was the shocking revelation that they may have come to the end of the line (note educated reference to ultimate 1990’s boy band lyric).

The rumours that One Direction are splitting up began when member Liam Payne revealed that the award ceremony last Wednesday marked the first time that band members had seen in each other for three months. Fans flew into a panic that their favourite bunch of cheeky chaps are apparently not in as close contact as they would like the believe, fueling rumours that if the boys haven’t been in touch perhaps they are on rocky ground.

One Direction star Liam Payne's stunt sort of backfired on him this week. What was probably intended as a boastful Tweet during an evening out with friends turned into something rather more serious.

One Direction star Liam Payne has said that he is sorry for his "extremely dangerous" photo stunt, in which the boyband singer stood 34 floors above the ground on the edge of a skyscraper. He described the stunt as "stupid" and "irresponsible" and apologised to any fans who were distressed by the picture.

The teen idol took to Twitter to apologise for the photo opportunity, which inexplicably made its way on to the front page of some UK tabloids on what wasn't exactly a slow news day, tweeting, "You may have seen a photo of me today taken on top of a building. Paul Rudd kicked off his third go at hosting NBC's Saturday Night Live by ensuring that every 15 year-old pop music fangirl in the country was watching as he recited an opening monologue whilst being flanked by boyband One Direction. Rudd lamented that he had been overshadowed by previous musical guests Beyoncé and Paul McCartney only to be upstaged once again by the British fivesome.

One Direction's Liam Payne is lucky to be alive after he escaped being burned to death in a London flat fire in a terrifying blaze that started on the luxury apartment's balcony, Sky News reports.

Liam Escaped Unscathed After A Fire Broke Out.

The singer was on the 34th floor of an upmarket Docklands block of residences when a mysterious fire broke out. According to fire-fighting personnel who rushed to the scene, "Firefighters worked quickly and professionally to get the fire under control as quickly as possible. Around 30 people left the building before we arrived and were not injured. Two of the occupants had superficial burns to their hands and the third had burns to his hands and face. All three have been taken to hospital," the spokesperson said.

One Direction's This Is Us, a documentary following the band's rise from X-Factor contestants to one of the biggest pop groups in the world. The documentary premiered in London on Tuesday (20th August) in Leicester Square, London. Screaming fans awaited One Direction and the other celebrity attendees.

The band which consists of Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson; all attended the premiere and greeted fans of the red carpet. The band was formed in 2010 on The X-Factor's seventh season. The group are one of the most popular in the world and this was reflected in the turnout of fans at the premiere. Fans were so determined to see their music heroes that some camped out in Leicester Square the night before.

Authorities are predicting that 80,000 dedicated One Direction fans will descend on London's Leicester Square for tonight's premiere of their documentary film This Is Us, directed by Morgan Spurlock. 

Hundreds of fans had camped overnight in central London to ensure priority wristbands to the premiere, though by 6pm, police predict that Leicester Square could be swamped by 80,000, each with ideas of getting a glimpse of their idols.

It's an unbelievable number. It's a stadium gig full of people. It's a packed Wembley Stadium, crammed around the Odeon.

Ah, we was wondering when this was going to happen. One Direction have added a couple more million to their bank accounts, though this time they're thinking for themselves. Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Liam Payne have signed SEPARATE publishing deals to cash in on all songs they have credits for writing.

It's a clear sign that the boys are beginning to look after their own interests following the phenomenal success of their first couple of years in the industry. The publishing deals are being overseen by Fingate, the company who also cash in on Elvis Presley's back catalogue as well as work by Britney Spears, Black Eyed Peas and Foo Fighters. 

A source said: "This is a real statement of intent from the band. They have absolutely no intention of being spoon-fed pop puppets. They want to write and they want to earn as individuals." As well as the new deals, each of the five members have also invested in their own studio set-ups at home and have been attending writing sessions together after gigs. On their latest record Take Me Home, the band had three songs with individual writing credits while the others were penned by outsider songwriters. The group did not have a hand in writing the three biggest hits from the album, Live While We're Young, Kiss You and Little Things.

There was Harry, dancing around the stage like a lunatic, Louis helping himself to the complimentary fizz, Zayn looking all mysterious and broody, and the little Irish fella was presumably just happy to be there. 80's pop star Boy George - who debuted a slimmer, altogether healthier look this week - was at the bash with his young niece, getting snaps with her favourite pop stars. Now, there appears to have been some confusion when the One Direction boys came there way. Later on Twitter, the Karma Chameleon hit-maker wrote, "Top marks to Harry Styles for stopping for a picture with my niece and B*llox's to Liam and the disrespectful w**ker of a minder!" adding, "Stars of the night, Harry Styles, Lana Del Rey, Jessie J. Too many drug f**ked twits to mention elsewhere! Emily Sande (sic) was great!" George later suggested Harry Styles would leave the band, saying, "You heard it here first!"

One Direction's Liam Payne said "to hell with tradition" and ditched the customary christmas turkey this year, going out for a Christmas curry with his family instead. Don't worry about the multi-millionaire's wallet though, because he had his parents pay for the meal (it is Christmas after all).

The 19-year-old boyband star went out, for the second year in a row apparently, to the local tandoori restaurant with his parents Geoff and Karen and sisters Nicola and Ruth in his native Wolverhampton to chow down on shish kebabs, naan bread and chicken tikka bhuna, rather than pigs in blankets, stuffing and roast vegetables. We're not entirely sure which meal option we would opt for ourselves, come to think of it.

Speaking to The Mirror, the restaurant's manager Jay Uddin said Liam always sticks to his favourite curry, and is something of a regular at the Penn Tandoori. He said, “He (Liam) pre-booked about two weeks in advance for the dinner and they came last Christmas as well, so it’s become a bit of a tradition with them now. Liam’s a regular and he used to visit the restaurant lots with his parents before he became famous. He loves his chicken tikka bhuna."

Harry Styles' might want to book his tattoo appointments for times that fit his schedule, as walking around with unfinished ink is just not cool, especially when it looks like he's got 'Things I C***' written on his arm.

The One Directioner was papped landing in L.A with his One Direction cronies, and some eagle eyed cameraman got a nifty close up of his latest - and unfinished - ink, and is it just us or does it contain a rather unsavoury profanity? Most outlets say the ink reads 'Things I can' and 'Things I can't' on Hazza's left and right forearm. But the latter looks suspiciously like the C-word. You need to get those tats finished before you show them off Harry; can't and c*** are too similar! During an appearance on Irish chat show, The Late Late Show, Harry revealed that he had been to the tattoo parlour that same day but refused to show them off as they were still bandaged up. He also declined to say what the tattoos actually meant, but his band mate Nial Horan quickly said: "It's a London thing," the Daily Mail reported.

The Ex-X-factor boys are in Los Angeles to perform on the U.S version of the show that made them famous. They're also set to meet up with Ellen DeGeneres on her show before Harry comes back to Dublin to get that tattoo finished up!
