Liam Payne is ''gutted'' after being unable to collect his Sexiest Man of the Year trophy at the Attitude Awards due to illness, but other big winners included Jess Glynne and Adam Lambert.
Liam Payne is ''gutted'' after being forced to skip the Attitude Awards.
The One Direction star, who was named Sexiest Man of the Year ahead of the star-studded ceremony at Banqueting House in London last night (14.10.15), was expected to be on hand to collect his trophy, but reportedly left organisers in the lurch after claiming he was sick at the last-minute, according to the UK's The Sun newspaper.
The 22-year-old star, who appears on the cover of this month's issue of the gay magazine, didn't explain the reason for his absence, but wrote on Twitter: ''Gutted I can't make the @AttitudeMag awards tonight as I'm sure it's going to be an amazing evening
''@AttitudeMag thank you for all your support it was amazing to shoot with you and thank you for the biggest compliment in my life so far.''
While the 'Drag Me Down' hitmaker wasn't able to make it, there were still plenty of celebrities in attendance, including Paula Patton, Boy George, Frankie Bridge and Tulisa.
Big winners included electronica trio Years & Years, Jess Glynne, Adam Lambert, 'Celebrity Big Brother' winner James Hill and Austin Armacost, who won TV Moment of the Year, BBC 'Newsnight' presenter Evan Davis, who was named Man of the Year, and Yoko Ono, who picked up the Icon Award for Outstanding Achievement alongside 'Frankie Goes to Hollywood' vocalist Holly Johnson, 55, and transgender model April Ashley, 80.
Host Ana Matronic, 41, revealed she wanted to get as many photos with other celebrities as possible.
Speaking before the ceremony, the Scissor Sisters singer told BANG Showbiz: ''Yoko Ono is here, I know that Vivienne Westwood is here, I just saw Adam Lambert and that me really excited, Sir Ian McKellen is here - I love him!
''I'm the host so he'll yeah I'm going to be approaching them for photos! When I get them I'll be like, 'Hey, let's take a selfie.' They can't stop me because I'm running the whole show!
''Top of my list for a selfie, it would have to be a toss up between Yoko [Ono] and Ian McKellen - 'cause they're both wizards.''
