Rupert Sanders has issued a grovelling public apology to his wife - the model Liberty Ross - over his affair with Twilight actress, Kristen Stewart. Despite the 20 year age gap, the pair reportedly began a fling whilst filming 'Snow White and the Huntsman' and Stewart apologized to her boyfriend Robert Pattinson on Wednesday (July 25, 2012).
Sanders' apology came shortly afterwards, expressing his anguish over the cheating scandal and telling People magazine, "I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family. My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together". Ross tweeted a Marilyn Monroe quote on Tuesday, which read, "sometimes bad things fall apart so better things can fall together". On Wednesday, she simply tweeted, "Wow" before deleting her account altogether. The statement follows Kristen Stewart's public apology to Robert Pattinson, which is ironically her first real reference to the couple's relationship. She said, "I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry".
The news will come as a bitter blow to British actor Pattinson, who had hinted that he wanted to marry Kristen during a recent interview with Blackbook magazine, saying, "There was a magazine, with these pictures, saying I was getting married. No one ever knows what is true or what isn't.Even my own mum called to ask me if it was true. It's not. At least, not yet. But it is true that Kristen has always done something to me that others haven't".
