Celebrity foot in mouth time! Lil Wayne dropped quite a sizeable clanger on national television this week when he claimed there’s “no such thing as racism” during an interview.

The 33 year old rapper stopped by Fox’s sports show ‘Undisputed’ on Tuesday night (September 13th) to shoot the breeze, and was asked by co-host Skip Bayless about the recent concert he held in Westchester, New York where the suburban crowd was almost entirely white.

Bayless told him “the only black face you could see in the whole audience was your make-up artist,” to which Wayne responded “I thought that was clearly a message that there was no such thing as racism.”

“My crowd has always been everybody,” he continued, citing his millennial fanbase as the reason for this. “It’s not cool to them”.

“I have never… never’s a strong word. I have never, never dealt with racism and I’m glad I didn’t have to,” he finished. Perhaps he’s overlooking that one time four years ago he claimed he was being discriminated against at an NBA game because he was told he wouldn’t receive courtside tickets…

Wayne, who has sold over 100 million records worldwide, also addressed the recent rumours that he’s set to quit music altogether.

The tweet that prompted the reports apparently originated from a dispute between himself and Cash Money’s CEO Birdman over money. Wayne explained that he wouldn’t work with Birdman ever again, and plans to “walk off free” once they’ve resolved their argument. Reports have suggested that the impasse is down to Wayne holding on to the master tapes for his new album Tha Carter V, and refusing to relinquish them until the financial dispute is settled.
