If it wasn't sad enough that Lin-Manuel Miranda is leaving hit musical 'Hamilton' this summer, now it seems that his Tony winning co-star Leslie Odom Jr. is joining him in his departure. He announced the news in a live Facebook video filmed in his dressing room.

One week after winning the Tony Award for Best Performance By An Actor In A Leading Role In A Musical, Leslie Odom Jr. announces that he's leaving the record-breaking musical after his long stint as Aaron Burr in the American history rap production.

'I am indeed leaving on July 9', he announced on Facebook yesterday (June 19th 2016). 'It has just been the most completely wonderful, totally healing, and inspiring experience from beginning to end. I will never forget the people that I've met here. I'll never forget all of you.'

The July 9th show will also mark the final performance (of the near future) of creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, whose role of Alexander Hamilton will be taken over by his 'In The Heights' understudy Javier Munoz. However, he has insisted that he will definitely be coming back to the role in the future.

There's also the fact that Miranda will still appear in the filmed version of the production which will eventually be made available to everyone. However, Odom Jr. has revealed that he won't be a part of said film.

'As of right now, I am not a part of that film', he added. 'I'll let you know if anything changes. I would love to be a part of it. There's a small chance I won't be, and if I'm not, I'm sure they'll find somebody great.'

He also has no news about what his future holds. 'I'm excited to have a blank page and I'm excited to go out and find something new', he revealed to his fans.
