Linda Evangelista is suing her ex-partner and Gucci chief, Francois-Henri Pinault for 28,500 pound per month in child support. In her case, which could turn out to be one of the most expensive child support cases in history, Linda has claimed that she requires, amongst other things, 4,300 pound for nannies and 10,000 pound for armed drivers, the Evening Standard reports.
Evangelista has claimed that Pinault - who is now married to the actress Salma Hayek, told her to have the child aborted, when she told him that she was pregnant. Pinault's company Ppr owns a number of high-end fashion brands, including Balenciaga and Yves Saint Laurent. He has admitted that he ended his relationship with Evangelista when he discovered that she was pregnant, in January 2006. They had been dating for around four months. "She was so happy to be pregnant. But it was not planned. I decided to stop the relationship at that point," When he was asked why he had not contributed to his son's financial upkeep, he replied "She didn't ask and I didn't offer."
Linda herself is worth a reported $5 million and once famously told reporters that she and her supermodel pals "don't wake up for less than $10,000 a day." Pinaut, on the other hand, is the heir to a $7 billion family fortune. His lawyer in the case has said "Most of the expenses do not relate to Augie (their son) but to Ms Evangelista. These people have more money than a lot of people. But our position is that what is being asked for is just ridiculous." Linda has also reportedly asked that Pinault buys their son a home similar to the 8?million pound California estate he put in trust for the daughter that he has with Hayek.
