In response to the 28-year-old actress' lawsuit, the TV news channel say they are prepared to defend their case "to the fullest."
One day after Lindsay Lohan and her mother, Dina, filed a lawsuit against Fox News for deformation after Michelle Fields accused the mother and daughter of snorting lines of cocaine together back in February, the TV channel vows to fight back.
Lohan and her mom, Dina, are suing Fox News over cocaine allegations
On Tuesday (Feb 3rd) Fox News stated that they are prepared to defend their case "to the fullest" and are rather "surprised" the Lohans are seeking money one year after the incident occurred.
"We will defend this case to the fullest," a Fox News spokeswoman said. "The remark about which Lindsay and Dina Lohan complain was made on live television by a guest nearly a year ago. We removed the segment from our archives altogether last February and also apologized on-air. At that time, the Lohans did not make any demands for money, and we are surprised they are doing so now."
The remarks in question were made by Fields, who was a guest on the Sean Hannity show, on Feb 4. 2014, - two days after Philip Seymour Hoffman died in Manhattan of a heroin overdose, in a discussion about celebrities killing themselves from drug overdoses.
During a segment called 'Early Train Wrecks and Tragedy About to Happen,' Fields said "Lindsay Lohan's mom is doing cocaine with her."
The lawsuit, which was filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, states that Fields "falsely, inappropriately and shockingly stated, unequivocally and as a 'matter of fact' that 'Lindsay Lohan's mother is doing cocaine with her.'"

"...Fields made the false, defamatory, heartless, derogatory comment in the context of the show's topic... (It) was a direct smear on the character/reputation of (the Lohans) ... (and it) was a totally irresponsible and malicious innuendo ... (that) Lindsay Lohan might become the next celebrity to join the obituary list," the papers say.
