Well, sorry to be the bringer of bad news Lindsay-ites, but your girl was arrested by cops after she allegedly hit a pedestrian with her car, reports the New York Daily News.

Though hit-and-run is clearly an extremely serious offense, things may become a lot worse for the actress, after the Manhattan chef who was hit by Lohan claimed she was "slurring" her words and "smelled like alcohol." Cook Jose Rodriguez said, "They acted like I was nothing.That no one could touch her because she was rich and powerful." The 'Mean Girls' actress - who was thought to have put her legal troubles behind her - was charged with leaving the scene of an accident two hours after the hit-and-run took place in an alley between the Maritime and Dream hotels in Chelsea. Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said police do not believe Lohan was intoxicated, though no breathalyzer was performed. Her father Michael Lohan was quick to defend his daughter's actions, saying, "I think this is all a setup.I love my daughter and I believe her 100 per cent."

The victim Mr Rodriguez called 911 and was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where doctors confirmed he had torn tendons in his leg. Though the exact details of Lohan's current situation are unclear, the hit-and-run is likely to cause major legal problems for the actress. Los Angeles defence lawyer Trent Copeland said, "If this allegation is credible, it could trigger an avalanche of issues in California, including a probation violation hearing and potentially jail."
