Michael Lohan and his girlfriend became embroiled in a huge bust-up in front of their two young kids on 11 October (15), during which Major claimed he choked her and slapped one of their sons in the face.

Officials from the Florida Department of Children and Families obtained video footage of the incident from Major and decided to remove the children from the couple's care due to the hostile environment, while police launched a probe into the child abuse accusations.

However, they have since closed the investigation into Lohan's alleged behaviour and declined to take the matter further as the video failed to prove Major's claim. According to TMZ.com, Lohan also proved his innocence by playing them audio footage in which Major admitted there was no truth to her abuse accusations.

The news emerges a day after a judge in Florida awarded custody of two-year-old Landon and 10-month-old Logan to their paternal grandmother following Lohan and Major's domestic dispute. The official ruled Michael and Kate will only be allowed to see their boys with a DCF monitor, while they were also ordered to take anger management courses.
