Only 1,000 sales separates the two acts, with rockers Linkin Park's A Thousand Suns selling 241,000 copies in its release week to claim the top spot.
It's the band's fourth U.S. number one.

Rihanna claims the number two and three spots on the new countdown - her Love The Way You Lie duet with Eminem stands firm at two, while her new single Only Girl (In the World) races up the charts from 75 to three.
