The record was originally released in 2003 and reached number 10 on the music charts, but it has found its way to number one following Richie's triumphant performance at the Glastonbury festival last month (Jun15).

Richie's last album to top the charts was Back to Front in 1992.

The thrilled soul man tells OfficialCharts.com, "I was overwhelmed performing at Glastonbury in front of all those people and for the fans to make the album number one is ‎unbelievable... The UK has always been a special place for me. Thank you, I love you all."

Another Glastonbury act, Florence + The MAChine, fall to two with How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful, and James Bay's Chaos and the Calm scores the third spot.

Taylor Swift's 1989 and Ed Sheeran's X round out the top five.

Meanwhile, Belgian DJ/producer Lost Frequencies has scored his first number one U.K. single with Are You With Me.

Tinie Tempah and Jess Glynne follow with Not Letting Go at number two.

Rita Ora's Poison, Walk The Moon's Shut Up & Dance and Major Lazer and Mo & DJ Snake's Lean On close out the top five, respectively.
