As well as starring in the revived series, the former 'Friends' actress will also serve as an executive producer.
Lisa Kudrow is returning to the small-screen in 'The Comeback.'
The show had a 13-episodes run back in 2005, and will return to HBO for a further six episodes that are slated to air this coming fall.
The television network confirmed this news just after announcing the return of another old show, 'Project Greenlight,' which last aired 11 years ago.
On Monday (May 5th) HBO tweeted, "#TheComeback, from @LisaKudrow and Michael Patrick King, will return for a new season this fall."
Kudrow co-created the show with Michael King, and the pair will also be executive producers along with Dan Bucatinsky.
The former 'Friends' actress has the lead role of the washed up sitcom star, Valerie Cherish, who is attempting to revive her failing career by starting in her own reality show.
"'The Comeback' holds a special place in the hearts of its many fans, including many of us here at HBO," stated Michael Lombardo, president of HBO Programming. "I can't wait to find out what Valerie's been up to since we last met."
"I'm so excited to be working with Valerie Cherish again," added King.
"It was almost too fun play Valerie Cherish the first time around," Kudrow said in the statement. "I look forward to revisiting this resilient and ironically self-unaware character."
As well as the 50 year-old actress, other cast members include Lance Barber, Bucatinsky, Robert Michael Morris, Laura Silverman and Damian Young.
HBO renewing this series will be a relief to Kudrow as this announcement came just after her former co-star Courteney Cox confirmed their will not be a 'Friends' reunion.

"Let me tell you something: there's six friends and I've been trying to put together a cast dinner for 10 years. It doesn't happen," she explained. "I can get the girls to come, maybe Matthew Perry. Matt LeBlanc canceled last time right at the last minute, Schwimmer lives here (in New York City,) so it's just not gonna happen."
