Tyne and Wear Indie trio Little Comets present us with yet another brilliant new single 'Jennifer' out June 11th 2012 on Dirty Hit Records.
The single follows their 2011 'Worry' EP that reached the UK Indie Charts and is just as sensationally colourful with its imaginative composition and distinctive reggae beats. The vocals, courtesy of Robert Coles, are also highly reminiscent of Caribbean music - particularly the way the song title is repeated in the same way throughout the song with a distinct harmony. An upbeat scat is used twisting together a jazz feel with indie sounds making it a truly unique but vibrant track to soundtrack your summer of 2012.
The band, who are often described as playing 'kitchen sink indie', is made up of lead vocalist Robert, lead guitarist Michael Coles and bassist Matt Hall. They first got together in a greengrocers in Newcastle and have since released their debut album 'In Search of Elusive Little Comets' at the beginning of last year (2011) which included the song 'One Night in October' which came in at number 3 in the UK Indie Charts.
They are now set to kick off an autumn UK tour beginning in Manchester in October and ending in London in November. More presently, however, they are to play a huge gig at The Olympic Torch Relay celebrations at Hyde Park on July 26th with Dizzee Rascal, Friendly Fires and You Me At Six.
