The original lyrics of Little Mix’s ‘Shout Out To My Ex’ reportedly contained a more direct reference to Perrie Edwards’ ex Zayn Malik and his new girlfriend Gigi Hadid.

In the song the girls sing: “Heard he in love with some other chick, yeah that hurt me I admit ... I hope she gettin’ better sex, hope she ain’t fakin’ it like I did, took four long years to call it quits, forget that boy I’m over it.”

But according to Australian site, News.Au, the song’s original lyrics were more explicit.

The website reports that the girls first wanted to sing: “heard he been f***ing some model chick, yeah that s*** hurt I’ll admit, but f*** that boy I’m over it.”

“We had to make it clean,” Perrie told the website. “We didn’t want to have the parental advisory sticker on our albums and singles.”

“Even though our fans are our age, 20 or over 18, we still have a lot of young fans. But it does feel good to swear, doesn’t it?”

“But if we’re empowering women all over the world and people are feeling better about themselves than we can put up with a few questions.”

Perrie has also addressed her break-up with Zayn in Little Mix's new book Our World, where she revealed he had broken up with her via text message.
