Lizzo runs for the exit door to escape the pressure of performing in front of a 'Stressed And Sexy Support Group' in the video for her new single - 'About Damn Time'. The 'Truth Hurts' and 'Juice' singer last released a single back in August of 2021 when she collaborated with Cardi B on their massive worldwide hit - 'Rumors' but has been quite quiet ever since then.
The Easter Weekend host of Saturday Night Live, who vowed to "break the record for the amount of times bitch is said on live TV", compared her Twerking skills to that of the most famous particle physicist, when she said "I’m like if Einstein could make that ass clap".
Lizzo's dual role in the latest SNL episode divided critics, AV Club saying it - "was (in our estimation) the best episode of the season so far" and The Guardian saying that "Lizzo fails to add juice to a dated and dire episode".
Lizzo's latest performance comes as news of another significant release for the 33 year old Minnesotan will arrive later this year. Lizzo's long awaited fourth album, titled 'Special', will drop on July 15th and follows on from 2019's - 'Cuz I Love You', 2015's - 'Big GRRRL Small World' and 2014's debut album, - 'Lizzobangers'.
News of Lizzo's next album comes only days after she launched her own 'shapewear' clothing range - 'Yitty'. Talking about the new venture Lizzo said - "I want to celebrate all of the different beautiful kinds of shaped bodies because it’s not just hourglass, and that shouldn’t be the only desired body type. There’s apple, there’s triangle, upside down triangle, there’s circle. There’s slim girls with no booty. They’re beautiful too, and they deserve to honor that shape and celebrate that shape and accentuate it if they want. Back when I first was interested in doing shapewear about six years ago, I was concerned at how little options women specifically had for this kind of apparel. It’s a unique kind of apparel because it’s not quite underwear, it’s not lingerie, it isn’t an outfit."
'Special', Lizzo's fourth album will be released on July 15th via Nice Life/Atlantic Recording.
