Mean Girls actress Lizzy Caplan is engaged to her actor boyfriend Tom Riley. The pair made their debut at the Prague Opera Ball back in February, but they’ve been keeping their romance private and actually became engaged two months ago.

A rep for the actress confirmed the engagment to US Weekly, revealing the Riley had popped the question during a trip to New York in May. Caplan and Riley met in in January 2015, while Caplan was filming in London.

They first sparked romance rumours later that year when Riley posted a photo of himself holding hands with a mystery brunette and jumping off a boat into the waters of Capri, Italy. On Friday they had been spotted grocery shopping together, where Caplan’s new ring caught everybody’s attention.

Caplan previously dated ‘Friends’ star Matthew Perry, but in 2014 she voiced her concerns over dating a fellow actor. “I actually romanticise the idea of a stay-at-home dad," she told Elle Canada.

"Partly because I think that's a very sexy thing, but also because if there are two working actors and both of them get a job and they have a baby, the woman is going to stay with the baby. I see it all the time. It just seems very unfair.”

But Caplan isn't the only Mean Girls star to be celebrating an engagement. Daniel Franzese, who played Damien the BFF of Caplan’s Janice in the movie, popped the question to his partner Joseph Bradley Phillips on Monday. Congratulations to the happy couples!
