Review of We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed Album by Los Campesinos

Review of Los Campesinos! album 'We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed' releases through Wichita.

Los Campesinos We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed Album

Los Campesinos! Released their first full length album 'Hold On Now, Youngster' at the start of the year, and now the band release their second album which actually started out as an EP but the band kept on writing new material and ended up with a full albums worth of songs.

The most noticeable thing about this album is it appears that musically the band have matured an awful lot. The energy is still an underlying theme throughout the album but it's now a little more honed, there's the usual addition of glockenspiels, bells and keyboards with an added noise element. Lyrically the band seem to be pretty nihilist projected with all the energy you'd expect from a young band. If you found the fast pace of 'Hold On' was what drew you to the bands first release, this may not be a great follow-up but if you like slightly more 'grown up' pop you will find more likeable songs on here.
