Louis Walsh has announced his decision to quit ‘The X Factor’ after what he called 13 “fantastic” years with the talent show.

The 65 year old pop mogul has been the show’s longest serving judge, appearing in all but one of the editions of ‘The X Factor’ since it began way back in 2004.

“I’ve had a fantastic 13 years on ‘The X Factor’ but the show needs a change and I'm ready to leave,” said Walsh in a statement. He added that he would remain a judge on another talent show, ‘Ireland's Got Talent’, as well as focussing more on “my day job as a manager, writing my memoirs and seeing the world.”

The X Factor has only been back on our screens for a few months but already one of its judges is looking towards the line-up next year. Nicole Scherzinger has revealed she has already been asked back to the show, despite heavy suggestions by head judge Simon Cowell he would like Cheryl to return.

The former Pussycat Doll singer, 39, has yet to confirm whether she will return but said it is "most likely".

Louis Walsh has reportedly revealed that his fellow ‘X Factor’ judge Nicole Scherzinger has had a boob job, while appearing on ‘Celebrity Juice’ this week.

The music mogul filmed an episode of the often-explicit game show on Wednesday evening (November 2nd), when he potentially let slip a piece of news that Scherzinger might have wanted to keep from the public.

An audience member told the Daily Mirror the following morning: “The celebs were playing a game called 'What's The Craic' about different stars with secrets and someone made a comment about Nicole's boobs.

Simon Cowell has reportedly ‘confirmed’ that Sharon Osbourne will be joining the new ‘X-Factor’ judging panel. According to The Sun, Sharon will return to the show later this year, alongside fellow former judges Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh.

Simon Cowell caused a bit of an awkward moment at the Music Industry Trust Awards on Monday evening. Accepting the 24th MITS award in recognition of his contribution to the music and entertainment industry as well as his charity work, the ‘X-Factor’ judge thought the time was right to make a Zayn Malik joke in front of his former bandmates.

Simon Cowell made a Zayn Malik joke as he was honoured at the Music Industry Trusts awards.

Taking to the stage to accept the award from the One Direction boys, Cowell quipped: "Just by luck I get the award I've been wanting all my life and I'm completely hammered. Guys, who misses Zayn?”

Louis Walsh could be in the frame to return to ‘The X Factor’ amid increasing concerns about flagging ratings. He is reported to be in talks to return to the ITV show in time for the live shows, even though he departed before the current series started.

Rumours have abounded since the start of September that Simon Cowell has been putting in ‘crisis calls’ to Walsh, the man he axed from the panel earlier this year having served on it since the show began in 2004.

A source close to the ITV production has now told The Sun on Thursday (September 24th) that Walsh may now be poised to make a spectacular return as a ‘fifth judge’ – partly to counteract the presence of Nick Grimshaw, whom viewers apparently find “boring” and has reportedly displeased bosses who believe he’s the main reason for the new series’ poor ratings so far.
